I strongly encourage you to venture beyond your usual choices and give Cuban cuisine a try if you haven't before. Don't hesitate to explore something different on the menu; you won't regret it. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was laid-back, contributing to a fantastic dining experience.

The restaurant caught my attention while I was running errands, and since it was lunchtime, I decided to give it a shot. Upon entering, I was struck by the heavy, dark wood bar, which seemed to have a storied past. The Latin music playing softly in the background contributed to the inviting atmosphere. I chose to sit at the bar alongside some regulars and ordered a Cuban sandwich and a Cuban coffee to start. The sandwich was both filling and delicious, featuring well-seasoned pulled pork that was moist, with a nice hint of pickles and mustard. I appreciated that the sandwich didn’t come with fries or chips; it was perfect as is.

I ordered the empanada as an appetizer, and it was quite average. The fried tilapia I chose for my main course was even worse; it arrived burnt. One side was edible, but the other side was so charred that I couldn't even scrape off the fish. The maduros were undercooked, with some plantains being just tiny slivers. The rice was cold, and the black beans were scarce. My husband opted for the Cuban sandwich, which he described as merely okay. Overall, this visit did not meet our expectations. Our waitress was apologetic and even waived the charge for the fish dish, but we felt bad for her since she didn't have control over the kitchen. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this restaurant. The food was poorly prepared and served, making it overpriced. It certainly does not deserve the 4-star rating it has on Google. Save your money and choose another dining option.
