What Kendra Mills doesn't like about Chuy's Tex-mex:
I've dined at this restaurant many times over the years. However, this time I was disappointed on just about every level. Their classic margarita tasted like overly sweet lime juice and the enchiladas were like rubber, almost certainly left over from lunch. In addition, the waiter was a bit surly! The service was outstanding. The server was very friendly, and the kitchen team was quick and efficient. It's a great place to eat!
Fried Beef Tacos were great. Service was excellent. Place was fairly busy, little loud, but otherwise a good experience.
I wish I could give more than five stars because this place is just as fantastic as I remember! The creamy jalapeño dip is absolutely divine, and the queso is to die for. The salsa tastes so fresh that I suspect it's made in-house. Our server, Chandler, was amazing—so friendly and attentive! I ordered the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, a favorite from over 18 years ago when I worked at the original Chuy's, and it was just as spicy and delicious as I recall. We also took home a tres leches cake, and it was perfect! I’ll definitely return every time I’m in town!
Last 5 times i have gone they have absolutely NAILED IT. The service. The food. The attention and dangerously easy to eat chips. Honestly I hope they keep doing what they are doing!
Classic Austin restaurant that we've been going to for a long time. You got to start out with the ponchos a perfect mix of fajita beef guacamole and nachos. We also like the creamy jalapeno dip for the nachos. On Saturday morning tortilla soup will give you a nice warm up and has that classic Mexican taste. Some of the house specialties that we love are the chuychanga and the steak burrito. This location has an impeccable interior design with tons of style and taste and Tex-Mex flavor. You have to go and sit in the parlor and have a margarita and just enjoy the ambience!
