To start, take a look at the title of this review. The hostess seemed puzzled when I mentioned my reservation made through Open Table, claiming they had "stopped paying for it." However, she was incredibly accommodating, and the service we received was among the best I've experienced in quite a while. Our server was gracious and funny, remembered everything we needed, and kept us entertained despite the restaurant being packed. I highly, highly recommend this place!
I visited this restaurant at the suggestion of a family member, and I was pleasantly surprised by the noticeable improvements since my last visits over a year ago. I definitely plan to return.
The Cho in Lakeway has great sushi and hot Japanese cuisine. Some creative rolls and sashimi dishes, great basics . A surprisingly good sake selection including some higher end stuff for those who like that. Fish is very fresh. Not cheap, but hey, it 's sushi. Service friendly and attentive (wait staff tend to be gringos but have good familiarity with menu including the Japanese names). And a whole lot less cost than Uchiko. Another nice aspect is their consistency. You know what you are going to get.
The food was excellent, featuring unique rolls and fresh, quality fish. The waitress was extremely helpful, providing great recommendations and demonstrating a strong knowledge of the menu to ensure a wonderful dining experience.
Food was really great, prices as expected, however staff is untrained...in an empty restaurant at 5:15 we were offered the four-top closest to the busy door and the bar...seemed put out when we requested a different table, then we had to wait for the House Valentine 's special drink Romeo and Juliet because the bar staff was trying to figure out how to make it, (we saw them tasting it as they tried... the food was good though.
