Reviews summary

In a recent dining experience, a restaurant known for its bao offerings has received mixed reviews. While patrons lament the absence of authentic guabao, they still find joy in the other buns and delicious Szechuan fries. The veggie combo, which features a tofu bao, presents a blend of sweet BBQ flavors but is criticized for its lack of depth. The veggie guabao has been deemed underwhelming, falling short on filling and taste. Notably, the Szechuan fries steal the show, praised for their perfect balance of spice and garlic, making them a must-order for any visit.

Was Iris Aguilar at Bao'd Up a mag?

Been trying Asian fusion restaurants in the Austin area since I just moved back. And I must say, this has to be one of my favorite steamed buns and dumplings. Worth the try! View all feedback.

What AlishaM dislikes about Bao'd Up:

It used to be better when they offered actual guabao instead of just “plates” but the other buns and boa are still pretty good, including the fries. Just make sure to specify vegan when you order, because some of the menu items with a V are only really vegan by request. View all feedback.

It was really cute place with good food. The main food is the bao which is ????????????. The place was super cute. And bro the fries and sauce. That stuff is marvelous ????, the fries itself were seasoned and the sauce was just chefs kiss. There was alsosome milk tea and thai tea.. The place is a little small and there is outdoor seating. If you find parking, I would 100%reccomend ????.

Bao'd up was SUCH a cute restaurant!! The ambience is SO artistic and creative, trendy music, clean floors and tables, staff was friendly, the FOOD.. omg talk about A M A Z I N G. My only complaint was that when I visited the restaurant the A/C was brokencausing our group to have to eat outside, despite this I still rate Bao'd Up 5 stars for the great food, and friendly staff.

I ordered delivery via Uber Eats and the food arrived hot and yummy. Inlike how the bag and the box was labeled with my order so their wouldnt be any mix up. I tried to get a picture of the meat in the center of the buns. They are so filling! I ordered thevariety pack.

YUMMO!! Boa’d Up was scrumptious! Great location with plenty of parking! Food was served according to temp and presentation was gorg!! It’s a little on the pricey side with each bun around $3 and up. If your like me and want to taste everything or avariety, it can add up! Overall, this is a great place for steamed buns. We’ve been back several times now.

I love coming to the Mueller Lake Park and I often order something from Bao’d Up because it is convenient. I don’t think they have the best boba teas that some of the drinks are too artificial. The buns are overpriced in my opinion but they aredecent. The fries were over fried today. They were crunchy like chips.

While the restaurant may only have a limited menu due to Covid restrictions, there was only one vegetarian option available. However, the fries were delicious!

I tried the vegetarian combo, which came with a tofu bao, a veggie guabao, and fries. The bao was flavorful, featuring breaded tofu in a sweet BBQ sauce, but it seemed to be missing a bit of depth in taste. The guabao was underwhelming—scarce filling and lacking flavor—so I wouldn’t order it again. On the other hand, the Szechuan fries were incredible, with just the right kick of spice and garlic. I'd definitely come back just for those.

The fries were okay, but the bao fell short of expectations. Also, the restaurant had an unusual odor.

Absolutely the best bao and gua-bao restaurant in town! Everything on their menu are so perfectly made and delicious. My favorite spot ever. The bobas and teas are also amazing. Their new item, the Xiao long boa are so tasty and juicy, one of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend everyone to try it when they have the chance to.Food: 5/5

Was wandering around Mueller looking for a quick bite. Strolled into Bao'd up and thought I would give it a try.The menu board is a little deceiving. There is a plus sign after items on the menu. I ordered two items $3.99+. The juicy pork BAO and the crispy chicken BAO $5.49.The juicy pork was a meatball. I was expecting juicy pork roast slices. It was not great! The crispy chicken was good but IDK if it was $1.50 more good.Quick friendly service

Saw this place after stopping for ramen the other day, decided to give it a try. Holy smokes it 's good. As a Texas you probably lean towards anything with brisket but you gotta try the more traditional Baó, it 's so much better.

Bao'd Up is an absolutely wonderful restaurant! The atmosphere is incredibly artistic and creative, with trendy music playing in the background. The floors and tables are spotless, and the staff is very friendly. Now, let’s talk about the food – it was simply A M A Z I N G. The only downside to my visit was that the A/C was out of order, which meant our group had to dine outside. Despite this, I still give Bao'd Up a solid 5 stars for the fantastic food and attentive staff.

Wish they were slightly cheaper, but darn these are amazing bao! I ordered seven of these the first time I went and I *loved* every single flavor. Their bubble tea bar also has a large variety of flavors and mix-ins. I wish they could open a branch in San Antonio so super badly. Also, they serve bowl meals on top of bao, so there's a little something with rice, veggies, or noodles for everyone.

It was a lovely restaurant with delicious food. The highlight of the menu is definitely the Bao. The ambiance of the place is very charming. The fries were perfectly roasted and the sauce was delightful. The staff were wonderful as well. The fries themselves had a nice seasoning, and the sauce was truly exceptional. They also offered milk tea and Thai tea. The restaurant is a bit small, but there is outdoor seating available. If you can find parking, I would wholeheartedly recommend this place!

Delicious! Boa?d On was not good! They have a fantastic location with plenty of parking! The food was served quickly, and the presentation was beautiful! However, it is slightly pricey, with each dish costing $3 and up. If you're like me and want to try a little bit of everything, you can definitely do that! Overall, this is a great spot for steamed rolls. We've visited several times.

Ordered online amd items were ready before my pickup time. Never had bao before, they were good. Tried the tx trio. Pork one wanst that great, brisket was a little spicy and the chicken one was very good -my favorite. Tried milk tea and did not like it. Tasted like unsweet tea. Maybe i needed to add sugars.
