The atmosphere here is completely different from the one that used to be on Barton Springs. The space is airy with high ceilings and a modern design. They’re marketing themselves as more than just a coffee shop, featuring a full kitchen and menu. When I visited, I was the only one there just for coffee; everyone else was ordering food. The location feels a bit remote to me, surrounded by warehouses and offices, and there's not much else nearby, though it’s only a 10-minute drive from the south terminal of the airport. One odd thing is that they close at 3 PM on weekends, which I assume is because it's somewhat isolated. Maybe they’ll extend their hours if there’s enough demand? Their hours are Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 8 PM, and Saturday to Sunday from 8 AM to 3 PM.
The vibe of this coffee shop is definitely a lounge where you can take a break from the offices around the area. But the food is really a lot more cozy than just cafeteria food. I love their breakfast tacos and pancakes. They also have a beer and wine selection for a weekend stop or an after work wait out the traffic vibe.
This Austin Java is situated in a food desert, so the options in the area are quite limited. I visited for the first time and overall, I was satisfied with my experience. I'd like to give this place another shot, but I was disappointed that they used the last piece of bread for my sandwich. Since it was on the bottom, my wife didn’t notice it until she was nearly done. This seemed careless on the kitchen's part.
Staff is polite and they work pretty quick. Food is good. They have a reward system in which you spend, I think $100 and get a free meal on your next visit. Plenty of parking. They could use more indoor seating but you can eat outside too.
Now for the highlights: I absolutely loved the taco! It was a good size and packed with excellent flavor. My latte was also delicious, and everything that came with my meal—the eggs, potatoes, and biscuit—was really tasty. My only letdown was the gravy; it was a bit too thin for my liking and had a buttery flavor that didn’t quite hit the mark. I prefer my country gravy to be thick and hearty, so this one didn't quite work for me. However, based on the taco and the rest of the meal, I’ll definitely be back if I find myself in the area!
Nestled in a quieter section of Austin, this newly opened coffee shop and eatery offers a refreshing take on casual dining. With its airy, modern design, it serves not just coffee but an extensive menu that includes standout breakfast tacos and flavorful pancakes, making it a cozy retreat for those in the area. The staff is known for their friendly service, and a unique reward system enhances the experience. While the location may feel isolated, it has become a local gem, attracting visitors with its enticing food and drink options, including mimosas and craft beers. Perfect for a leisurely weekend brunch!.
