Auguste Marcel is a charming restaurant that may benefit from clarifying its identity and menu. The mussels are a standout dish, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bar is well-designed, and the ambiance is a plus. Despite a limited menu and lacking wine selection, the dishes are delicious and reasonably priced. Bottles of wine are half off on Sundays, making it a great choice for a relaxing evening out. The tapas may not be traditional, but the aioli is tasty. Overall, Auguste Marcel is a delightful spot with potential, especially for mussels lovers and happy hour enthusiasts.
The food at this restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced, with the salmon being a standout dish. The ambiance was charming, particularly the well-designed bar and comfortable couches, and the service was very friendly. However, the menu was quite limited and the wine selection was lacking, which was surprising for a wine bar. Additionally, there were no dessert options available. This may be why the restaurant was not as crowded as expected.
The restaurant was very quiet with few customers, so it took a long time for our drinks to arrive and they were not very good. Two menu items were unavailable due to the lack of customers. However, the highlight was the mussels, which were outstanding - perfectly cooked and seasoned. They were definitely worth trying.
We had a great Sunday evening at Auguste Marcel especially since bottles of wine are half price! : The mussels were absolutely AMAZING as was the flammekuche flatbread. The service was on point, very attentive. Music was fun and energetic. We will definitely be back!
I miss the fried chicken at Little Barrel and Brown but this place did not disappoint, besides a mediocre salmon pate. The classic mussels, cheese board and wagyu beef were excellent. The waitstaff was very attentive, and they have a great wine list. Their beer and cider list however was a bit limited, and I wish their menu was a bit more extensive. The interior is very chic and cozy. Overall a good restaurant.
Tasty and tasteful, this is a really great spot. Classic menu, very reminiscent of eating in the north east. Clean and inviting, friendly staff, and nice mix of midrange drinks. Plenty of seating, lively atmosphere, you can't go wrong. Really nice happy hour too, which goes 6-8, which accommodates some of us later shift folks which FEW places in Austin do anymore. I had to bump it down a star due to our server. Not sure what was up, but hey, it happens. I'm sure this is rather out of the ordinary.
