Feedback
This popular restaurant offers a mixed dining experience, known for its flavorful steaks and welcoming service. While many dishes like the filet mignon and Brussels sprouts received praise, some patrons encountered problems with overcooked seafood and inconsistent preparation. The ambiance, often lively and noisy, suits festive occasions, but celebratory moments may go unnoticed. Reservations are easy to make online, ensuring convenience. Despite some food disappointments, the overall atmosphere and attentive staff keep diners coming back, making it a notable choice in Austin's dining scene.
Their Caesar salad is hearty and outstanding—definitely one of the best I've ever had. However, the lamb chops are undoubtedly the best value in town, as well as some of the most delicious lamb chops you'll find in Austin.
I decided to try this restaurant after discovering that the one we originally intended to visit had nearly a two-hour wait. I really appreciated the option to make a reservation online; it was quick and easy! Given the positive reviews, I thought I'd give it a shot, and I’m glad I did. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. It was a bit loud for my liking, but the delicious food and attentive service more than compensated for that. The steak was among the best I've ever had—cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. I also tried the Dijon balsamic Brussels sprouts, and they were incredible! I was initially hesitant about them, but my wonderful waiter assured me that if I didn't like them, he would find me something else. While it is a bit on the pricey side, it was absolutely worth it!
The food was disappointing. The Caesar salad dressing was overwhelmingly strong, the shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were overcooked and tough, and the filet mignon was inconsistently cooked—one half was well done while the other was medium, even though I had ordered it medium rare. The baked potato was watery and not enjoyable at all. The lobster tail was also overcooked. Overall, it was an unpleasant dining experience for my birthday dinner.
My new favorite steakhouse in Austin! I enjoyed the grass-fed steak along with broccoli and a loaded baked potato—everything was fantastic! The staff was extremely friendly and helped me select the perfect wine to complement my meal. I also really like the John Wayne room, which is ideal for gatherings of five or more people.
We managed to get a last-minute reservation without knowing much about the restaurant except for its online reviews. The exterior doesn't do justice to the beautiful interior. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, checking on us at the perfect times and making sure our glasses were always filled. The food was outstanding. I ordered the wagyu steak, aged for 30 days, paired with asparagus and green chimichurri. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned, incredibly tender and full of flavor. My wife chose the chicken breast with mac and cheese, and she enjoyed every bite. I can’t recommend this place enough—it has quickly become a favorite of ours, and it’s an experience we will cherish!
