With both vegan and non-vegan family members, we were disappointed that Winchell's did not have any vegan donut options available. However, they assured us that a vegan option would be coming soon. In the meantime, we decided to go ahead with ordering their birthday donuts - the Casey 12' - and I made some vegan cake donuts to complement them. The birthday donuts were absolutely delicious, and the ordering process over the phone was easy. Pickup was a breeze, and we were very satisfied with our experience. I am excited for the future availability of vegan options at Winchell's so that I can treat my guests to a variety of vegan donuts that everyone can enjoy together. However, the real star of the show is the product and service. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by the friendly and energetic staff, which was a great start to my morning. The interior had a nostalgic feel typical of a donut shop, with a small seating area for customers. They had a good variety of donuts on offer, as well as some specialty items. The donut and cinnamon roll I purchased were fresh and delicious. The dough had a slightly chewy texture, which I personally enjoy in yeast-raised donuts.
