Simply put, don't eat here unless you must. If you do eat here, the potstickers and dumplings are the only delicious things. Everything else was mediocre at best. Especially, especially, considering the price point. I could not believe a place sellinga renamed California 8 piece roll for $18 was using frozen carrots and oily fried rice. Dessert was OK.
The food and service here is great. Sarah was my server/bartender and she made several very well balanced drinks. She also recommended the short ribs and the Queen City roll and they were delicious!
The food was mediocre and quite pricey. With the hotel undergoing renovations, there weren't many options available. Due to a convention in town, there were no available tables, so I ended up sitting at the bar.
We had a reservation last night, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Many of the other guests seemed like they had just come from the pool. When we were seated, our waiter simply informed us that water was on the way and asked if we needed anything else—there was no proper welcome or explanation of specials or menu highlights. It quickly became clear the service would be inconsistent. We placed orders for our kids and starters, but 25 minutes later, we still hadn’t received water or the kids' drinks. The shishito peppers and short rib dumplings were good, but a roll we ordered arrived very late and was served without soy sauce or chopsticks until we asked for them. We had assumed this was a fine dining establishment, but it was far from that.
We ate at Monte Jade after a long day of swimming. Considering the price, the food was quite average. I've been to many Asian restaurants, so I know how these dishes should taste, and honestly, Panda offers more flavor than this place. The Mongolian beef was just okay, and the drunken noodles were way too salty. This is a simple dish to prepare, yet the chef managed to overdo the soy sauce, making it overwhelmingly salty instead of balanced with a light saltiness and a hint of sweetness. They really need to hire authentic Asian chefs who understand how to cook these dishes properly. The service was great, but I wouldn’t return because the food didn’t meet expectations.
