Not like in many other ice salons where everything tastes the same. The ice salon is central and always when you are in town, it is worth making a way around there.

It is a seasona... read more My wife and I have been coming here since the early 70's. My wife grew up in Augsburg and turned me on to Santin Eis soon after we were married. It is a seasonal establishment (lebkuchen Schmitt uses the local for the Christmas season), open...from mid-spring to about the first weekend in October. They serve a wide assortment of flavors, our favorite is hazelnuss (hazelnut). Although we have tried this flavor both in the U.S. and elsewhere in Germany, we have not found better quality or flavor. Santin Eis has waitress service both inside and outside as well as walk-up service. We have never been disappointed (except when we were in Augsburg off season when they are closed).

We looked for the shop and found Eis Santin (not Santin Eis) at first glance another ice cream shop run by another family member in the Santin family!!! A local (and friend of the owner, it seemed) even told us that...this was the only Santin' in town -when we asked why the shop (we were looking for) was on a different address. The reason for his response is this: Santin Eis on BAHNHOFF STRASSE is fantastic! Eis Santin is NOT! Try for yourself there is a big difference between the two. Eis Santin is only surviving because of it's location! Remember Santin Eis. NOT Eis Santin.
