Decided to stop in Auburn for late afternoon snack while touring the area and after looking at a couple of other places ended up in Cogwebs. . We had a couple of really nice ham and salad sandwiches and a cup of coffee and the bill didn't break the bank.Well worth a visit for a quick snack. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Cogwebs:
All four coffees served had burnt milk and residue grind. Very bitter and overpriced for such a small cup. I couldn't even drink it for the sake of paying for it. View all feedback.
Beautiful food made the old fashioned way, the way it is supposed to be and great customer service with a friendly lady behind the counter.
Judy Searly welcomed us with a smile and an offer of enticing, home-made food. The sandwiches were delicious, the pumpkin cake to die for and the pineapple strudel that my husband had was a delight. Couldn't recommend it more highly. Lovely outdoor seating with interesting information about the history of Auburn and CJ Dennis. We'll be going there tomorrow on the way back to Adelaide!
Can’t imagine this cafe relies on return visitors. Sounds like I’m not the only gullible passer by who sees the enticing sign out the front, gets shafted $6 for a coffee and winds up throwing it out. We bought 2, paid $12, my wife threw all of hers out and I managed to stomach half of mine. I’m not gonna bother wasting much more time on this review, it’s pretty obvious they don’t bother reading them.
We stopped in Auburn for lunch on our way through the Clare Valley and by fluke chanced upon Cogwebs. The cafe serves delicious home style food. We had the toasted ham and cheese sandwich. The thick cut leg ham off the bone and flavoursome thick sliced cheese in seriously good bread was exceptional.......not your average plastic cheese and white sliced bread! The scones with homemade jam and local Devonshire style cream was so good we nearly ordered another but we were just too full. The coffee was good and service terrific. I loved the quirky decor with its beautiful photographs and photography books. I highly recommend this cafe, well worth a visit!
We stopped off here for coffee, scones and jam and cream. We were disappointed that they had run out of cream, but the coffee, scone and jam was still good.
