I visited the Dorchester, Canton, and Boston areas last weekend from Washington, DC, for my cousin's wedding. While a few ladies in my group (five of us total) took a trip for manicures and pedicures, I decided to stay busy by browsing local shops across the street. After shopping, I reunited with them, and since we were all hungry and it was nearly 2 PM, we agreed to find something good and quick to eat. Luckily, PieZoni's was just two doors down from the nail salon. None of us were too picky about what we wanted to eat; we just needed something satisfying. Although I had never heard of PieZoni's Pizza, I am a fan of pizza in general, so I was eager to give it a try. Once inside, we placed our orders, and while the ladies chatted about their nail treatments, I patiently waited for my food. Three of them placed individual orders, while the other two shared a couple of dishes. Their orders included: (1) Cuban Pizza with honey mustard, sweet plantains, ham, red onions, and Canadian bacon; (2) Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza with bacon, hamburger, pepperoni, and extra cheese; and (3) Steak Tip Salad featuring marinated top-grade sirloin steak tips served on Caesar salad (dressing on the side). For my meal, I decided to stick with my past preferences. I’ve been trying to have something green every day, even if it means indulging in pizza. I spotted a special PieZoni's Calzone that contained spinach, similar to a Mediterranean Calzone—complete with oil, garlic, olives, tomatoes, and feta cheese. I customized mine to include two meats: pepperoni and beef. The calzone was generously packed with spinach, which enhanced its deliciousness. When the food arrived, the ladies were impressed by the size and flavor of their pizzas. They noted that the meat was cooked perfectly (well done), the crust was just right—not too thick or thin—and had a slight crunch, served hot out of the oven. My first bite of the calzone was equally amazing! Although I’ve had calzones before, this one was unique. The top was covered in cheese, while the insides were nicely filled, giving it a complete look. It was simply delightful—so much so that I felt like I could star in a commercial for it! The restaurant maintained a clean environment, and customer service was friendly and accommodating, especially when one of the pizza orders came out with regular bacon instead of Canadian bacon. They switched it out without any issues and even suggested we keep the mistaken order. I was more than happy to help them polish that pizza off! Overall, my experience was fantastic! I highly recommend trying out PieZoni’s. I hope they consider expanding to the DMV area because I would love to enjoy their food again. Oh, and the wedding the next day was a success! My cousin married a Southern man (I've heard they’re keepers). So ladies, go find yourselves a Southern gentleman and try a PieZoni pizza or calzone before tying the knot!

The Madeira salad was excellent! The turkey sub was average, but still a good value for the price. The customer service from the girl at the front taking orders started off well, but she became rude, even though it wasn’t particularly busy at the time.
