Prosciutteria Martinuzzi is a restaurant that doubles up as a B&B. We stayed there for 6 nights and had breakfast every morning, as well as dinner on 3 or 4 nights. The food is delicious and the choice is great: apart from platters of their excellent prosciutto (served with top-class mozzarella, tomatoes, and melon or grilled vegetables, depending on the platter chosen), they serve excellent plates of vitello tonnato and cold roast beef, different types of pasta, gnocchi, meat, and the typical Friulan dish « frico e polenta » (grilled cheese with polenta). The lemon sorbet for dessert was also a favourite! We were a group of 7 and tried most of the dishes, each and every one delicious, for an unbeatable value... I really wish I had such a restaurant in my hometown in France!! Thank you Cristina and the other 2 hard-working ladies (not forgetting the cook), I’ll be back whenever I can!

With not too high expectations (of a butcher gone into cooking) we visited this restaurant for dinner in our holiday and were pleasantly surprised. Of course the mixed meats antipasti is something not to miss, but there were plenty of other starters as well, and the pasta dishes were great too. Paired with a winelist with some good local wines, this made an excellent meat. We ate outside, under a sun and rain screen, fortunately as there came a thunderstorm.

We spent a week in this area and tried several restaurants around Attimis and Faedis. Prosciutteria Martinuzzi is definitely the best one we have seen. It is a relatively big restaurant with inside and outside seating. It is nicely decorated allmost a bid elegant compared to all the other restaurant we have seen. From the outside the restaurant does not look that compelling, but don't get miss-guided Food is very nice at a very good quality with many local dishes Service is good too, although it might take a bid longer depending how packed the restaurant is. Definitely a recommendation!

OK, as you can see I have done many many reviews all over the world. I also happen to be a very good cook myself. It was Monday in Italy ... but this place on the teeny road frim Faedis to Attimis just outside os Udine was open. We were searching for the best Frico and we sure found it and a whole lot more. Really never had gnocchi like this. Made with the regular potatoes but with a little cheese and ruccola added in. Delicious and so light to melt in your mouth. The Frico was ... well ... HEARTY just like I'd been told the best woukd be. Crisp on the outside and hot potato cheesey ontge inside. Polenta of corse on the side with pomodorini just picked from the garden. Classic perfect Vitello Tonnato. Divine Prosecco and a €5 euro mezzo of local Refosco that wpukd cost €6 for a skimpy pour in a glass in town. And don't even get me started on the Panna Cotta. I've had zillions. This beat them all. And the hostess was one of the friendliest people we've ever met. A grand slam home run here. Well worth the 1/2 hour drive put of Udine.

I must admit that finding a place to have good prosciutto from San Daniele outside of San Daniele is difficult. This prosciutteria does not only justice to San Daniele, but also offers more...like the tagliatelle al cinghiale (wild boar)...the tagliatelle are home made, the wine (refosco) is locally sourced, smooth, not pretentious, wonderful staff... One cannot go wrong trying this place out. 2xBravi!
