This is my most favorite date place. My husband and I go Gere at least once a month. The ambiance is awesome and the food is good as well. But the little cyos of coffee will keep you coming back for more. Oh and the Gingerbread waffle is highly recommended!
Java Jive is a treasured gem of ATL. Consistent, old time breakfast. The service is great, food is so so good, and the pies are next level! Cannot recommend enough for a reliable breakfast spot. Great take out and don’t forget, cash only! If needing, a reliable desert spot do not sleep on the pies !!
Java Jive in Midtown Atlanta is a breakfast spot worth visiting. They serve simple and freshly prepared dishes, with fluffy cookies that are a must-try. The coffee is better than most diners and always freshly brewed. Be sure to try the specials on weekends. The staff is friendly and happy to assist with any questions. Please note that they only accept cash, with an ATM available in the store (with a surcharge of $1.75). Parking can be challenging, especially on busy weekend mornings, so plan accordingly.

I highly recommend trying the sky cream cheese French toast and the incense cake waffle with lemon curd – both were delicious!

This restaurant only accepts cash and offers a peaceful atmosphere perfect for breakfast with the family. I suggest trying the pancakes or biscuits. My go-to dish is the Greek omelette with breakfast potatoes or grits, but be sure to ask about the specials for a pleasant surprise. They have an ATM available on site.
My husband and I visited this restaurant twice during our vacation because the food was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, and the prices were affordable. The menu may be small, but there is a good variety of traditional breakfast options for picky eaters, as well as more adventurous flavors like the Santa Fe and Mediterranean egg scrambles. We also tried the raspberry cream cheese French toast and the gingerbread waffle with lemon curd, both of which were delicious. Highly recommend!
My partner and I were staying at the hotel across the street and decided to give this restaurant a try. The waiter was very welcoming and provided clear information about the menu and their COVID protocols, which I appreciated. The buttermilk pancakes were absolutely delicious, and the orange juice was perfect. I ordered the Santa Fe scramble with cheese grits and potatoes. The scramble was flavorful and well-seasoned. I didn't try the potatoes, but I'm sure they were tasty. The biscuit was shaped like a heart, which was a nice touch, but it didn't meet my expectations of a good biscuit, considering that's what they are known for. Just a heads up, make sure to have cash on hand or use the ATM by the bathroom.
Some places are just delicious and this happens to be one of them. Quiet eatery reasonable portions of food and the coffee is a secret bean brewed to perfection. Retro Decor sets this restaurant apart. Even the hours of operation makes this a unique find and experience. The restaurant is in business for providing a quality dining experience.
I had the Mediterranean scramble with grits and biscuit, a side of bacon, and decaf coffee. The food and coffee were overall very good, the white person exemplary. the biscuit was a good texture and size, an even rise not lopsided, and gently brown on top and bottom not burned, just right. Alas, bacon does not seem to be their thing. My concept of crispy bacon is that it is dry and breaks up easily when you bite it. You don't have to tug on it a little to break a piece off. The Mediterranean scramble was well made in a good portion. The grits were quite smooth not hard or gritty. The black decaf coffee was brewed well, and the taste was that of a very good breakfast or everyday coffee, not fancy, nor harsh, and there was no sediment or grounds. the prices were a little steep for me especially for the side of bacon, which was three strips. So I will return but not get an add-on side, as the Mediterranean scramble, grits and biscuit were quite a-plenty and very satisfying, as was the not large but bottomless cup of coffee. (Photo shows the meal already partially eaten. It was a good thing that I got there moments after the doors opened, because the place quickly filled with customers. Recommended. Bring a friend if you have one.
