In the vibrant atmosphere of Ponce City Market, one restaurant struggles to impress its patrons. Diners report steep prices and unremarkable food, describing disappointments such as dry chicken and lackluster sides that fall short of expectations. Complaints highlight both the value and quality—one visitor lamented spending $40 only to receive unsatisfactory dishes and poor service, while others echoed sentiments of low-quality fare. Even those who enjoyed the fried chicken noted that it lacked standout flavors. Despite the appealing location, this establishment seems to miss the mark, leaving many to reconsider their dining options.

What Spencer dislikes about Hop's Chicken:
Extremely overpriced. Nearly $12 for a single chicken sandwich with no sides that is half as good as a Chick-fil-a sandwich. Chicken was dry, flavorless and extremely small. Will never visit this place again. View all feedback.

Nasty all around. Do not recommend. It can’t even compare with the quality of the surrounding restaurants.

Overall, the prices have soared significantly. An $8 side of mac and cheese is just too steep—while it was pricey at $5, it’s now jumped to $8 after just a month, which seems outrageous. It feels like the owner is purely capitalizing on greed. Additionally, the biscuits are quite disappointing; paying $2.50 for a dry and bland biscuit is not worth it.

It's Ponce, so you’d expect at least something decent. And that's exactly what it is—decent. The food is often chewy and consistently lacks seasoning, but overall, it's not bad. Just not good, either.

I spent fourty dollars for 5 pieces of chicken coleslaw macaroni and a chopped salad. i got the family mean assuming it would be a good value but once I got the food I realized it was no dessert item. They informed me they were out of dessert and I cannot substitute. So I asked since the dessert was eight dollars could I get anyth even at a lesser value and the answer was no because the manager won’t allow. Once I got the food the coleslaw was so bad my daughter got sick. The chicken was soggy and the macaroni had an extremely pungent odor. I asked to speak to the manager and she had me wait for 7 mins until she came out of the office. When she came the entire staff came with her, which was very weird. And as I’m explaining why I felt like I got ripped off. She was looking at me as if I just wanted something for free. No apologies or anything.
