Fire Hen - Atlanta
Fire Hen
Description
A Buckhead chicken spot earns praise for a standout 'dirty bird' sandwich, crisp rotisserie and fried chicken, generous portions and friendly service in a bright, clean space. Diners enjoy the walk-up takeout options and jumbo wings, though quality can be uneven—white meat sometimes dries, sauces vary, and fries have occasionally tasted old. The menu’s rotisserie claim clashes with heavy fried offerings for some patrons. Tight parking and strict closing-time policies are common caveats, but overall it’s a solid casual choice for families and quick meals.

Had the dirty bird with fries. Great sandwich. Cooked perfectly. Awesome taste. Guys working were nice. Place is clean. I will be back for another next time I’m in Buckhead.
I walked in just 1 to 2 minutes before closing, and even though the employee hadn't locked the door yet, they refused to serve me. I understand that I was cutting it close, but they could have easily accommodated me. I appreciate some items on their menu, and all it would have taken was a simple act of courtesy. If I entered before closing time, I should have been served.
However, I didn’t see or smell any signs of wood-fired rotisserie chicken being cooked. I ordered two quarter chicken meals, each with a side—one with fries and the other with corn, along with hot sauce and chimichurri sauce. Unfortunately, the chicken tasted as if it had been prepared the day before, and the corn was quite bland. The fries had an old oil taste, and I was baffled to find that the chimichurri sauce was made with dried parsley—fresh parsley is quite affordable! The menu was filled with fried items, which added to the confusion, especially since it was advertised as a rotisserie place. Overall, I left very disappointed.
I can't stop thinking about my meal a week later—it was that good! The dirty bird sandwich was incredible, leaving all other chicken restaurants in the dust. The restaurant itself was clean, although the parking situation could be a bit better. Despite that, it won’t stop me from returning!
