Description

The Cedars Brassiere restaurant in Cork received mixed reviews from customers. One family found the service slow, food lacking in flavor, and staff inattentive. Another visitor complained of poorly stocked bar and dirty surroundings. At Athlone Springs Hotel, guests were disappointed with the quality of food and service. However, one customer enjoyed the lunch, praising the presentation and taste of the dishes. Overall, the restaurant seems to have inconsistent experiences - some guests had enjoyable meals while others were left disappointed. Some improvements in service and food quality may be needed to ensure a better dining experience for all customers alike.

We went to the athlone springs hotel on our way home. Our mains were taken by the manager, she never commented or asked how our meals was as they both were not eaten. When I complained to her she said she noticed that they were untouched. I explained how my husband did not get what he ordered nor did our drinks arrive. Even though we told two different staff we haven’t got our drinks. When the coffee arrived it was weak and cold. It was just a terrible experience and worst of all I still had to pay for the mains that were not consumed.

I recently dined at Athlone Springs Hotel for lunch while considering it for a family event. I must admit, I was extremely disappointed with the experience. I was charged €7.95 for a sourdough bruschetta, which turned out to be a small piece of ciabatta bread topped with a not-so-fresh side salad. My husband ordered a bagel that was smaller than a burger bun. Neither dish matched their descriptions on the menu and were overpriced for what we received. Sadly, we will not be returning to this restaurant.

A group of four families with ages ranging from 5 to 50 had a pleasant evening meal at the Cedar Brasserie on a Wednesday night. The Brasserie is usually closed on Wednesdays in February, but it was open due to the mid-term break. We had starters, main courses, and brought a cake for dessert. The staff was attentive and the food was served promptly. Personally, I would have liked a bit more time between courses. The lamb shank I ordered was deliciously tender. My brother-in-law's prawn linguine was a hit, and my brother thoroughly enjoyed his buttered chicken burger. Most of the children opted for the chicken goujons, which were seasoned with herbs. My picky eater daughter was put off by the seasoning, but the others enjoyed and finished them. We also enjoyed cappuccinos, although my wife found her Americano to be too cool.

The food at this hotel is good but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Hotel need to address this problem. As I certainly would rather go to another local hotel where I know I won’t be left waiting for 35 mins for a kids brownie and given attitude from a waitress when I asked if they could send out the desserts please. No apology given just attitude.

Bar food was average, panini came out untoasted, staff forgot the sauces and brought them out when the meal was over, risotto was bland undercooked and sat in a pool of watery liquid. Asked for apple tarts to come out hot but were lukewarm. We were served by several staff nembers and yet had to look for them twice. There was such a cold breeze we had to wear our jackets. Music too loud to converse comfortably. When paying the bill got mixed up with someone else! I think management need to go back to the drawing board here as there seems to be too much staff and no one seems to know what the other is doing! On a positive note the bar has had a nice makeover and more spacious.
