We chose to sit at the sushi bar based on a friend's recommendation. To our surprise, we were treated to a complimentary salad and a fried mushroom puff with tuna as an appetizer. We ordered the sushi dinner for two, priced at $49.95, and mentioned in the special request box that we love eel but are also open to trying new dishes. The meal included an extra ginger salad and miso soup. Sitting right in front of the sushi chef was a unique experience. He checked in on us during our meal, and we had the chance to tell him how much we enjoyed everything. The sushi platter was a delightful assortment, with our favorites being the BBQ eel, conch, albacore, salmon, and yellowtail. The tuna and red snapper were okay but didn't stand out as much. All the fish tasted incredibly fresh and delightful, with the conch having a lovely firm texture and the BBQ eel being particularly tasty. My husband especially enjoyed the shrimp tempura roll and the double punch roll. To top off our meal, we were treated to complimentary fried Oreos for dessert. I highly recommend dining at the sushi bar—it offers fabulous food and fantastic service. Overall, we had an absolutely delightful experience.
We also ordered edamame and a seaweed salad as additional appetizers. The edamame was cooked perfectly, not too soft or too firm, and the seaweed salad was quite decent as well. For our main sushi selections, we had salmon nigiri, tamago (egg omelette) nigiri, salmon small rolls, and an eel hand roll. While everything was good, none of the dishes stood out as exceptional. I’ve definitely had better versions of these items at other restaurants. The quality of the raw fish was acceptable, but not remarkable. The service was generally good, although there were moments when our server didn’t notice us when we were trying to get her attention; however, this didn’t detract much from our experience. In addition to the appetizers, we were also treated to a complimentary dessert of fried Oreos, which was a nice touch. Overall, I would rate this as a solid four-star experience. I might consider returning in the future, but not in any great rush.
