This place was bustling with people who sat all around the restaurant on Friday afternoon genuinely looking like they were enjoying their afternoon lunch...
Worst sushi I’ve ever had. I ate before one time in person and the sushi wasn’t bad. I had ordered it today through Ubereats, specifically said in a note no ginger, wasabi or eel sauce. Received my order with ginger, wasabi and eel sauce, clearly they don’t care to read any notes. Also the sweet potato wasn’t fully cooked and was like in cubes.. I’ve had sweet potato roll plenty of times and it’s always come like blended. Really do not recommend ordering from this place for takeout.
My favorite sushi restaurant in Astoria and one of my favorites of all time! I have noticed that on the weekends the sushi is so fresh and every ingredient is just perfect! I am allergic to avocado and they have never messed this up once (thank goodness). I used to really love Blue Ribbon Sushi, but I’m so afraid to go back since they put avocado in my roll after I repeated many times I’m allergic please substitute with mango. I really appreciate this restaurant for being cautious and caring about my allergies. BTW, If you haven’t tried an eel and mango roll, do it and you’re welcome in advance. The restaurant is also atheistically well designed and gives you trendy NYC feels. This vibe is great for any occasion be it a business meeting, date night, birthday, or any other group dinner and event. I have been so many times and always receive quality service. Thank you for all the hard work and yummy sushi, Watawa Sushi!Parking: Lots of street parking but difficult to get a spot during busy weekend nights!
