We enjoy a maragato cooked with all the law and all the meats, leg of ear, morro, lacon, panceta, bacon, morcillo, hen, cured rib, chorizo and the filling that I carry to my childhood, we continue with the chickpeas of pardal peak, cabbage and cooked potatoes, we continue with the soup of noodles that is born to suck. coffee with mild orujo and 2 days without eating anything else.
Just to repeat, I have a lot of boletus confused with foie, and the green salad in tempered sprinkles with tomato and strawberries, we continue with a deer loin to the px. And a low-temperature wild bass to enjoy that saline smell, and ended up with a ifoion of strawberries with goat cheese ice cream, which still scrambled of the good it was.
Beautiful rest, decorated according to the area where it is, very good food, despite the anecdote we had (our thing). the perfect restaurant, the reception is very nice, they have been photographed with the famous people who have eaten there, but I remember badly was the jose maría aznar, felipe gonzalez, some member of the royal family, etc. squisite treatment, perfect, besides if something is not from his goose offer to ambition without any problem. If you want to eat in the same astorga and centrally this is your place
It was guardia civil Day and we went to watch, then came down the rain so we ducked into serrano at lease we can watch the beginning of the parade and be dry.the guardia gathered outside looking resplendent in their uniforms.when thy got to the church one of them carried a large bouquet of flowers which they p laced on the alter I didn't realize the religious attachments to the day, after about an hour we all made our way ack to the quartel where the public and busesses had donated a mountain of food and drink, eveyone tuckd in with gusto.after all the speeches visitrs had a drink prior to eventual leaving, what a day, what an experience.
Only had our Camino clothes but felt very looked after. Service was incredible including recommendations of what to order, accompanied by the most friendly smiles from anyone we have come across along the trail. Thank you Raul! My dad made a fool of himself trying to google translate Spanish but Raul spoke perfect English. Food was beautiful, very tasty. Our favourites were the salad, carpaccio and the cannelloni. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a treat after too many pilgrim chicken legs. Worth every cent and more! A delightful surprise
