Ashtabula Towne Square
Ashtabula Towne Square
Description
The mall wears nostalgia and possibility in equal measure: once a bustling 90s shopping hub, it now shows many vacant storefronts and limited retail variety, yet retains local gems — a strong movie theater, a free-play arcade, Bath & Body Works, Pretzel Time, a collectibles shop, a phone-repair kiosk and a casual eatery with fish tacos. Ample parking and a central location keep it accessible. With new tenants and longer hours it could revive, but for now visits feel quiet and wistful.

The shopping mall seems to have seen better days, with many vacant storefronts and a noticeable lack of foot traffic. Yet, despite its current condition, the mall still possesses significant potential. Its prime location and ample parking make it an accessible spot for shoppers, and the existing businesses are well-regarded within the community. With some revitalization efforts and a few new tenants, this mall could revive into a bustling hub once more. However, it appears unlikely that this will ever come to fruition.
I enjoy taking my kids to the arcade, and the pretzel shop there is absolutely delicious!
I wish it could be revitalized. I long for the days of bustling malls and the spirit of the 90s. I miss when this mall was truly lively and thriving. Now, walking in feels sad and depressing.
I’m giving the Ashtabula Mall a 5-star rating because I have a personal bias; I’ve been visiting since my teenage years. While there aren’t many stores left, the ones that remain are fantastic. The movie theater is excellent, and most of the arcade games are free to play, which is a big plus. I can’t resist stopping by Pretzel Time, and Buy Sell Trade has an impressive selection of movies, albums, games, action figures, and collectibles. Plus, the staff there is amazing!
