All three of us had steaks here a week ago, and they were all prepared as we like them, women medium and I medium rare. I read some pretty negative online reviews about this restaurant before we came here, but I was pleasantly surprised both about the quality of our food and the prices on the check. We are just not used to paying $13 for a delicious skill steak with roasted potatoes and pan-fried mushrooms (which my wife loved! here in Ontario, the price would probably be twice as much. While the decor may have a little spruce up... our waitress was friendly and helpful, the drinks, apps and net all arrived on time. We all really enjoyed our meal... and when the daughter makes it AU, we will be back many times!

Like all places, it has its up... read more We visit Jake's pretty regularly. We have been going here for over 10 years now and really like the food, atmosphere and service. Like all places, it has its ups and downs. If I'm alone or with adults, I always sit in the bar. The servers in there are more attentive and experienced. They keep your glass full and seem to be more on top of it. The restaurant part is hit or miss. Sometimes the food is quick and hot, others it's slow and usually wrong. This week everything was warm but slow. It was Saturday night but we noticed that when we were being seated, there were 10+ people waiting for a table but a bunch of open tables. We assumed it was to make sure the kitchen did not fall behind. I would recommend the mushrooms as an appetizer, they're awesome. The sandwiches are very good as well. I do miss the lasagna. I also like their beer selection, it has a nice selection of craft taps and sometimes surprise me with a really good one.
