if they want to eat where the other Asheville kitchens eat, they go to vivian. innovative yet accessible kitchen simple, but carefully prepared. great service: attentive, but do not float; friendly, but not too friendly. this will always stay on my short list of the best restaurants of asheville. Thoroughly delicious; thoroughly professional; totally enjoyable except for one small item... no handicap access. Bannister on the front stairs? We shall return! View all feedback.
My boyfriend and I visited Vivian for Sunday brunch, and I had high expectations because I had heard so many fantastic things about the restaurant. Unfortunately, we found the food to be just average. I ordered the shrimp kedgeree, while my boyfriend went for the fisherman’s breakfast, and we both added a biscuit to our meals. We felt that both the shrimp kedgeree and the fish from the fisherman’s breakfast were lacking in seasoning. Additionally, the rice in the kedgeree was slightly undercooked.
We had a fantastic dinner! We started with deviled eggs, enjoyed a steak, and finished off with two desserts. The service was excellent, and the food was incredibly satisfying!
We loved our experience at Vivian! We had a seat in the window and it was perfect to enjoy our drinks, food and watch the world go by. The pastries were light and fluffy. The deviled eggs were define, perhaps the best I have ever had. The lox was super fun and in a preparation that is like no other. Then we finished off with our mains of the smoked lamb eggs Benedict and quiche. The quiche was very flavorful and the lamb brought a nice touch to the dish. Highly recommend
I had an EXCELLENT experience at Sunday Brunch. I’ve tried numerous restaurants in Asheville, and Vivian has now secured a top spot on my list for dining in the area. I can’t wait to return for dinner! The steak was incredibly flavorful and tender, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. I'm concerned that the eggs from my usual breakfast place back home in Raleigh won’t measure up. What’s truly impressive is that the food is just one part of the fantastic dining experience at Vivian. The service was the standout feature!
Imaginative menu; everything was well executed and genuinely delicious. Attentive service plus great food we truly enjoyed our meal. The smoked squash was particularly amazing. It would be easy to make a meal out of just appetizers, given the nice variety of options.
