The food is generally good, with generous portions, although some dishes like the shrimp starter and damp pizza were disappointing. However, the truffle fries and shrimp grits were standouts. Service was excellent, although there were some issues with Open Table reservations. Overall, Tom George is a great spot for a casual bite to eat, with a diverse menu and cozy atmosphere.

I had a bite to eat here on a last trip through Asheville. I enjoyed my dinner. The service was great. The food was good and pretty good. You also have great outdoor restaurants. Great place for a casual bite to eat.
The food was excellent, the service was fantastic, but the tables could use a new finish.
I recently dined at the bar and enjoyed their $3 drinks special on Tuesdays. I started with the devil oaks, which came with 6 halves and 3 different types of preparation. My favorite was the jalapeño topped art, but the others were also delicious. For my main course, I ordered the Shrimp Grits, which had a unique dark red topping. It was different from what I had before, but I really enjoyed it. The staff provided excellent service and I would definitely return in the future.
