I was recommended this restaurant by my neighbor and I was not disappointed. Don't let the location in the back corner of a half-abandoned shopping center deter you. The service was excellent, the interior was lovely, and the drinks were great! We will definitely be returning. View all feedback.
What Frank Luther doesn't like about Rye Knot:
The food at this restaurant is exceptional, especially the sausage. They offer an eclectic menu that caters to a variety of tastes. The outdoor space is great and the staff is incredibly nice. A hidden gem! However, on 9.4.21, we experienced slow service and were not allowed to sit down for a meal despite there being empty tables outside. The outdoor dining area was wonderful with a wide variety of delicious beers. We were thrilled to finally dine indoors and found the space to be very spacious. We enjoyed some drinks at the gorgeous bar before our meal, including fantastic jalapeño margaritas and a session IPA that was so tasty I had to have two! I ordered the fried green tomato Napoleon with fresh goat cheese and shrimp in a ham gravy, which was absolutely heavenly. To savor every last bit of sauce, I even used a tallow French fry. The smoked mac and cheese side dish was so filling it could have been a meal on its own.
The restaurant industry is going through a tough time, but I'm still giving Rye Knot 4 stars, even though I had a pricey issue there recently. The menu is impressive, and with some improvements in consistency and presentation, there is potential for it to be great. Currently, the food is just okay. However, the drinks are fantastic! I suggest trying a seasonal cocktail and tasting some of their drinks.

A hidden gem! However, on 9.4.21, we experienced slow service and were not allowed to sit down for a meal despite there being empty tables outside. This poor decision resulted in losing 2 stars and potentially losing repeat business. We gave it another chance and on 1-28-2022, the food and service were back to normal. The quality and diversity of the menu were excellent, and the staff was still friendly.
Rye Knot was out of this world! We had the mussels, Brussels sprouts with pork belly, and smoked meatloaf. One of the best meals I?ve ever had. Highly recommend!
Hands down one of the best meals I?ve had. Started off with some locally crafted beer. And by local, I mean 5 feet behind the bar. Since the menu was full of amazing items, we went with Brussel sprouts and pork belly. So delicious and perfectly cooked. Next up was a plate of mussels. Ask for extra bread as you will need that for the juices left over. Mussels had a great taste and the sauce was amazing. Decided to go with the meatloaf as it was listed as a local favorite. It was absolutely amazing and every bite was perfect. Mashed potato?s, gravy, sauté summer squash and zucchini and a dash of onion strings. All in all a hidden gem in Asheville and well worth the trip out.
