The veggie breakfast bowl was so delicious and amazing I think it was my favorite breakfast ever in my 19 years of life. Thank you very much it was delicious and very good service. I am visiting from Vermont. View all feedback.
What Kerensa Bartlett doesn't like about Early Girl Eatery:
Staff was really friendly and wonderful but unfortunately they were severely understaffed. I waited 50 minutes and when my order came it was just rice and beans, without any of the extras that are supposed to come with the California bowl. It was also a meager portion and very bland. I respect the mission but expected more! View all feedback.
Traveling through Asheville and accidentally found this gem. Right from the start they greeted us, asked us if we had allergies, and made sure to put us somewhere a highchair wouldn't be in the way. We got the spinach potato cakes and pork breakfast bowl and we devoured it all. Had to top off the meal with the mimosa flight with seasonal flavors (lavender, peach our favorite, apple and cranberry). The manager was amazing and so was our server Phoebe. All in all it was a fantastic experience!
Awful experience. I was so excited to celebrate my birthday with the previous reviews. We walked in, no one greeted us, the guy kept repeating how many, no eye contact, and did a hand gesture to hurry up. We were sat, our server got us drinks and then took another tables order went to the host stand and continued to talk and stand there. We had to call her over so we could order. She talked very quiet so it was hard to understand anything. Our order was taken and the hosts were all talking, side eyeing us and just not professional. Another table came in sat down, were not even greeted properly, sat down and got up and left due to the table being dirty and no one helping them. We asked the guy bringing food out how long it would be. He said our ticket went in at 2:39 and it was 3:07 at this point. We told him the atmosphere was not ok and he informed us that he agrees 100% and has been trying to fix it with the new hires. He brought our food out and it was instantly cold he was going to go and remake it we told him don’t waste your time and let him know it was not his fault. This poor guy was the only one running food out and he felt terrible for us and the girls at the front gave him attitude. We got up left and moved onto another restaurant who instantly greeted, sat and took our order in less than 5 minutes. I was excited to eat the food here but unfortunately no one cared about the service or people. I hope it gets better and that others have better experiences. But this was truly awful. I have also worked in the food industry for years at a huge theme park and know that this is NOT how things run. I feel for the assistant manager and hope everything turns out better for him as he was working his butt off.
Really I mean ZERO STARS. There is a discrepancy between this store and an online ordering service for food delivery, and when I called to talk about it I was not helped, screamed at and hung up on. I called twice, once to find out what was going on with the order because I hadn’t received it in so long (a normal call that normal people who are hungry make and again, later, to finalize the situation (they weren’t bringing the food to me and I can’t pick it up so please give it to the homeless outside, etc. . I swear the people I talked to are demonic. The way they sounded and behaved just now is crazy, and I’m beside myself. It’s me who paid $48 and never received food more than 2 hours later, what was their gripe?? I called the second time to tell them what I found out from doing my research online and with my credit card company, and they would not let me speak because they just kept assuming what I was thinking and going to say next and that I had an issue with THEM when really I was just trying to close the loop on the whole situation and share information that may help them for the future so it doesn’t happen again with the same online service. The level of violence on the phone has me contemplating law enforcement because people like that do not need my phone or address. Sick people. Never supporting this place again. Love, the “lady” you just talked AT (not with using the least amount of maturity, class and professionalism imaginable.
Early Girl has a different and delicious menu with great service.
8/7. 2:15 pm. To be clear. I did not eat here. This is because my bf and I walked in, hungry and happy to be there. 4 young ladies standing at the host desk. Walked up, I said hi! Nobody looked at us. Nobody said hi back. Continued chatting amongst themselves, and the one directly in front of me put her phone down on the counter, continuing to poke/swipe at it. One of them said something to the others and walked out onto the floor. This is unacceptable. I waited a beat, saw that even after a beat there was no acknowledgement. We left and nobody tried to stop us or react in any way. I’m posting date and time so hopefully the owners see this, and I’ll put it on yelp as well. If I were the owner they’d all be looking for a job. I’ve been in hospitality for years. There is zero excuse for this and the owner shd know how the business is being run when not under his/her/their watchful eye. I know this is a good place to eat. We went there purposefully after seeing the menu online. But we won’t go again. We happily gave our hard earned cash and its usual hefty tip to another local eatery. It doesn’t matter that we are total foodies, but I’ll say it anyway because been being that, and working in all aspects of hospitality, to have this happen really makes me mad- for us, but more so for the owner.
