As a self anointed fried chicken sandwich connoisseur, this hidden gem of a place will be atop of my long list forever. Ordered takeout, piping hot and ready to go upon arrival. What Stephanie Stanley doesn't like about Asheville Sandwich Co.:
My mistake…. I just paid 9 and change plus tip for a bacon egg and cheese sandwich that was so greasy and overdone it was inedible. WAYYYYYY over priced and their lunch is good but wow …. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. I wish I hadn’t tried to force myself to eat at least some of it due to paying so much for it because now my stomach is paying the price. View all feedback.
Love this place. It is in a gas station/ convenience store which does nothing but add to the experience. The food is excellent quality and has amazing flavor. The staff is always friendly. We travel to this area for softball tournaments and it is everyone first stop on the way to the fields. Don't judge the book by the cover because you will be sad that you missed out!!!
It was a gas station! We were looking for an actual diner! Did not stay.

As someone who has come here since the day it opened, I can say with confidence that this restaurant has only gotten better. Which is pretty hard to do. It was great, wholesome and comforting to begin with. So imagine the surprise Everytime I place an order it’s better than the last. The food is always fresh and hot. The flavors are phenomenal. Everyday is a new special. Sometimes it’s old comforting favorites and other days it’s a new innovative sandwich. The desserts are also something you don’t wanna miss out on. I think what’s most amazing though about this tiny place hidden in the gas station and has been (rightfully) deemed an Asheville gem is that this restaurant is for the people and the community. It’s food made for you. It’s an experience unlike any other and is def worth a stop.
Sand Hill Kitchen is a phenomenal locals only type of joint, a true hidden gem! You can't go wrong with one of their award winning chicken sandwiches or burgers, and the bowl of goodness in the morning is like a hug for your tummy!
