We had 7 courses and a few intermediates that I think (we count lost) and all were brilliant introductions to a regional kitchen, with modern adjustments that made sense all the way away. the wine pairing was regional and sent out of the sky. when in aschaffenburg then at least. an evening in oechsle!
This time I tested new fish dishes. a few new dresses. I really liked that. the place is wonderful, really gourmet but without extreme . you must try suppen as appetizers.
We went to this restaurant after a family event. The appearance is wonderful. The ground flour and the basement are aestatically redesigned. In spite of the old frame house windows the main rooms is light-flooded and looks really modern. The staff is friendly and polite....Also the variation of the food is great and changes with every season. Furthermore there are some special events like a lobster evening. The only negative thing is that sometimes staff was overstrained by the amount of people. Overall we had a great experience.
I had to try the restaurant in Zum Golden Oechselen after reading about it in the hotel reviewers' comments. I was going to stay there but walking distance from railway station a little too far with bulky luggage so stayed somewhere closet (in another review! ....The restaurant is veru upmarket in fitout, menu quite extensive and relatively high prices to match. But the food is good. I wanted something different to wurst schnitzel andgot it with a coq au vin but done in Franconian style with Franconian red wine, cabbage potato dumplings. Huge serve and very tasty. Glad I didn't order an entree too full for desert. If you want some fine dining in Aschaffenburg you can find it in an unlikely Gastätte. Bon appetit!
I have already been a few times alone in the oechsle but never before at the spay season, I would like to miss the chance of the team and the foods to praise in no case - and speak out here our most heartfelt praise - we have decided to cook for the court white and greener spargel with kuddeln. that was really something completely different and tastefully pampering. also the especially good weinberatung we do not want to mention at this point - my wife and I were overwhelmed and we will certainly come back - many thanks to the whole team.
