Contribute FeedbackDespite its high rating in the area, The Tides Restaurant failed to impress diners with their middling food and odd service. Some guests were disappointed by overcooked entrees, bland dishes, and missing ingredients. However, others enjoyed their experience, praising the excellent food and exceptional service provided by friendly waitstaff. The charming atmosphere, consistent quality, and variety of menu choices left some patrons satisfied and eager to return. Overall, while there were some disappointments, there were also positive experiences to be had at The Tides Restaurant.
This is a lovely place to go for a swim. It is also a hotel, but please note that they only accept cash. There is a charming bar in the back which also operates on a cash-only basis. The entrance fee for the pool is $10, but my friends and I ended up spending 6 hours there. They offer a barbecue lunch, but you can also order from their full menu. The pool has lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas, and is great for cooling off, starting at 3 feet and gradually increasing to 8 feet deep. I am definitely looking forward to returning before the season ends!
The meal we had at Tides Restaurant tonight was simply perfect. Located in a quiet part of Asbury Park, the restaurant at Tides Hotel blends in with the surrounding houses. Inside, the lobby was welcoming with a cozy feel. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, with elegant decor and a casual vibe. The dining room was beautifully decorated and the service was excellent. We enjoyed a delicious bottle of Angeline Pinot Noir and fantastic appetizers. My wife loved the French Onion Gruyere appetizer while I enjoyed the fig and bleu cheese salad. For our entrees, the swordfish and chianti braised short rib were both cooked to perfection. We ended our meal with the homemade ricotta cheesecake, which was absolutely delicious. Overall, our experience at Tides Restaurant was amazing and we would definitely come back again.
The restaurant provides top-notch cuisine, outstanding service, and a charming ambiance.
The service at this restaurant was okay. The ambiance was unique and enjoyable. However, my wife's salad was too heavily dressed and the bang bang shrimp and calamari appetizer tasted like standard fried bar food. The signature crab cakes were unimpressive and lacked flavor (we alerted our waiter, who promptly removed them from our bill). On a positive note, the duck breast special was incredibly tasty. Overall, we left feeling mostly let down by our dining experience at this establishment.
My entree was described as linguine putanesca which I understand to mean pasta in a tomato, olive, anchovy sauce. The tomato sauce was bland, the slices of olives were very scanty, and the anchovy were not present! This was a school-cafeteria lunch and at over $30 ,was a rip-off. My friend had a salad and steak, which were uninspired but average. Perhaps I ordered incorrectly, but if this is the best Asbury Park has to offer, I am in trouble for the next two days!!
