We took a party of six to lunch in this historic old bake house, now a restaurant in the old part of Arnsberg. We tried the kutscherpfanne (coachman's fry up) which was a revelation! If you no when you visit, also try kartoffelpfanne (a potato speciality). View all feedback.
Maybe because it wasn't so busy, the service was excellent, unlike other reviews I've read. The food was perfectly cooked and very valuable. After a 5-hour drive from home to Arnsburg, the carving was the size of my head and the great craft beer was exactly what I needed.
What a jewel of a beer garden. a hot summer day we chose to have a short break on the way home. After the steep ascent to the castle it was nice to hide under the shade of trees in this beautiful garden. Friendly staff, delicious cheesecake and beautiful coffee! We stayed a while before we left home. What a beautiful place to finish our short holiday.
After waiting for our food for over an hour, we were treated to a good German meal. The waitress never came here to ask if we wanted to have a drink when our glasses were empty. Must go and ask for the bill. Nice location, but I personally will not go there again.
I have eaten here with my family for several occasions during winter time, which is always solid in food and service and today for the first in summer on the terrace today was a complete service catastrophe! We waited 50 minutes for two simple salads, one with chicken breast, one with goat cheese. This timing is unacceptable, and when we mentioned this, the answer was a combination of an excuse and a multi-layered yes, but excuse. Yes, but there are so many tables, yes, but our kitchen is small, yes, but fresh food needs time... the first two are stupid and not my problem, while the third is not unacceptable. To convey to customers that a simple salad really needs to take 50 minutes is completely about me both on a factual and on a behavioral level. Will not come back here again because this behavior is bad for my blood pressure...
