I'm here a few times. The service has always been excellent, even if it is full, good drinks and good moods. Live music when you come early enough, along with events every night. South of Clarendon, the mood here is relaxed. Great place to catch what sports game you with some good food. Kitchen closed around 10, but often orders up to this time. View all feedback.
What Claire Smith doesn't like about The Celtic House Irish Pub:
This place is okay, the fries are really good, similar to a McDonalds style but better. I do not recommend the half chicken as mine was over cooked, bland and the gravy didn't taste like gravy. The mashed potatos here come unseasoned and bland too. The ribs were perfectly cooked and lathered in an average tasting bbq sauce. Also the coleslaw was average. View all feedback.
The food here is amazing! I've so far had the breakfast and a dinner. The breakfast, with everything from sausage to eggs benidict to fresh custom omelettes was absolutely wonderful. For dinner, my husband ordered the crab cakes and I ordered the fish and chips. Both were some of the best we've ever had. The service was amazing, and the charm of one of the owners coming to the table to make sure we were happy was a personal touch. The atmosphere was that of a relaxed pub and a classy restaurant. We are here from Florida and I'll miss this place. We'll be going back to this place all week until we leave. The crab cakes were amazing as well as the fish and chips. Sunday brunch was out of this world! Owners Mike and Danny are the best. Highly recommend.
My hubby and I went there for a friend's birthday 2 nights ago on a Thu and it was packed. Apparently, a very good Irish band was playing that evening. The food was solid to my surprise, especially since the shopping center it's in doesn't look like much. Don't let appearances fool you! This place has the best fried fish I've had in a long time and I've had alot! The chips, as the Brits like say, were okay but the fish definitely made up for any flaws in the chips. It came with a condiment cup of slaw that I wish was a full side dish. Thankfully it comes with lemon slices cause you definitely need that acid to cut through the fat from the crispy batter. My hubby had their steak and cheese sandwich which was good and he ate the whole thing, but my fave was the fish and chips for sure!
There are three places I like to visit for lunch or dinner: Taqueria el Poblano for tacos and tequila, L.A. Bar Grill for burgers if I don't want Guinness, and The Celtic House Irish Pub Restaurant for when I want a burger or fish chips and a Guinness. So friendly. So nice. Owner is hands-on. I always eat at the bar. Bartenders are always very generous, professional, and friendly. I just at there for lunch yesterday: fish, chips, and 3 Guinness pints. Pretty self-indulgent but the fried fish was crispy and came with pretty good fries, malt vinegar, two wedges of lemon, some tartar sauce, and a little bit of ketchup. Worth it.
We descended on this pub with a large group of almost 20, including many children, after attending an Arlington service and the staff could not have been more welcoming or hospitable. Excellent service, our server even spent time engaging all the little ones and taking them to pick out a candy cane from the Christmas tree. Food was fresh, plentiful, and tasty at a reasonable price. The manager personally visited our table to chat and shook our hand offering his condolences to the family upon our departure. We left feeling like we just enjoyed a meal with family. Highly recommend.
The food was amazing, the beer great and couldn't have asked for better service. Even talked to one of the three owners. Totally recommend this place. The live music was a great plus.
