This location is great. I was living in the neighborhood during the early pandemic days would come and get distanced takeout and there was this very nice barista, so sweet, positive and really sets the tone for a nice, chill morning!! I moved away for a couple years and just recently moved back and revisited this location she’s still there, still just as awesome. I recommend this Philz! View all feedback.
What Roxana V doesn't like about Philz Coffee:
Coffee is pretty good, I'd come back for that. Unfortunately, our food was bad. It was clearly microwaved, the sausage muffin more than once, and the burrito was cold in spots. It's too bad, especially for almost $7 a sandwich. View all feedback.
Great coffee but LONG wait. I came here for the first time today and my coffee was delicious. I did have to wait 7 10 minutes for them to make it though, so not a good place to go if you’re in a rush. Seems like a great spot to hang out though to do work or meet a friend. The indoor decor is very cool. They make each cup from scratch so they grind up the beans to order and I think they do pour over style, which explains the wait. I got a dark roast, small hot coffee, with oat milk and I loved the flavor. It wasn’t sour or acrid, it was a perfect nutty rich taste. If you have ten mins to spare, the great taste was worth the wait!
First-Time Here! I must say I was totally impressed. Great Customer Service!! The Mint Mojito coffee was WOWWW. The Bacon Maple Sandwich was very good too. I will definitely be back.
I love Philz and the staff at this location are soooo friendly and nice! It has pleasant outdoor seating and a few tables inside as well. If you’re coming here for a meeting, it’s good to arrive early because tables are sometimes full, at least inside. If you haven’t been to a Philz before, it is different than most coffee shops. They don’t do lattes or frappes or anything like that. Instead, you choose your coffee blend and then tell them how much cream and/or sugar you want, and they make the whole drink for you. I think the coffee is really high quality and I love the way they are different from other shops!
Mint tea with real mint , love the coffee and pastries. ample seating inside and out .
Perfectly consistent with all the other Philz locations in the DMV and in the West Coast! If you've never been to Philz, it's good to know that they specialize in pour-over coffee. But it's unlike other pour-overs you may have tried. Each drink is individually made to order, with lots of options for coffee blends, dairy (or dairy free) and sweeteners. A barista runs you through an intro of how the coffee process works, helps you choose a blend from their 15+ options, how much creamer and sweetness you'd like, and whether you'd like hot or iced. The iced options can be chosen from any blend. They're specifically brewed in such a way that doesn't taste watered down. Once brewed, the barista always asks for you to check your drink and see if it fits your preferences. You can always adjust your drink no matter what so you will always leave satisfied. There are no espresso drinks, however I highly recommend trying these drinks at least once since they're unusually good! The baristas will usually do their best to make something that will taste similar to an espresso with the same amount of caffeine (Philz blends actually contain a pretty high amount of caffeine, especially the light blends). If you're feeling something different, they also have some tea options and hot chocolate. For food, they usually have some toast options, Philz bagels (really good), sandwiches, pastries, parfaits, baklava, and a few more I'm missing. This location also has lots and lots of plugs and room to sit, from cozy couches to stools next to the window. It's also a very visually appealing location.
