One of the few places in DC with impeccable service. The staff are courteous and friendly, and always with a smile. Their sauces are amazing. They 're not the typical vinegar sauces that the US seems to love ... nah, these are tasty hot sauces. And though not as hot, Medium seems to be the most flavourful. Love it! View all feedback.
What Latasha Allen doesn't like about Nando's Peri-peri:
I found a hair in my salad. I did not eat and was unable to return it because I purchased through uber eats. I will not be ordering from here anymore. It's unfortunate because the food is tasty. This was my second time ordering from here and I noticed the difference between my first time and this time. There was less food and it was packaged very messy. Smh See pic: The hair is on the piece of lettuce near the salad... View all feedback.
I have been there for lunch several times. Chicken and all other side dishes are fantastic. Great value. Highly recommend it.
To put it simply, they have really good chicken. Chargrilled, tender, and juicy with choice of sauce added at the end. Medium was pretty tasty, but the hot sauce was on point. Right amount of heat with a vinagery tang to it.
Sooooo gooood..... You know what is an incredible combination? Budget friendly food, a fun dining atmosphere, and delicious flame grilled chicken! I love this location because the booths are cozy enough to make you feel like you are at a restaurant but it won 't break the bank. I love spicy food but hate it when food is just pure heat without any flavor. I found that the 'Hot ' was a perfect balance of heat and tangy flavor...like a buffalo sauce that was upgraded to greatness. The fries come out hot, fresh and crisp and taste fantastic with their Garlic sauce (next to their drinks, you can try all the sauces). The true surprise was their garlic bread. I wasn 't expecting much but it was warm, buttery and garlicky and became my permanent side order in the future.
Lots of vegan friendly optionsI ordered the Portabello Mushroom wrap and asked for it vegan. So they omitted the Halloumi which they told me is cheese. It has to be made without the “chili jam” because it had dairy yogurt in it even though the menu does not indicate the presence of yogurt. I had a side of Seasonal Roasted Veggies that were out of this world and vegan. There was an error with my order that the manager immediately and promptly corrected. He was GENUINELY concerned that my meal was vegan and said next time I visit I can ask for the nutritional information book which will list all the ingredients for a dish so I can not only tell the cashier I want vegan but I can specify the non vegan ingredients they need to omit to make their vegetarian dishes vegan. I really feel comfortable that this manager wanted us to have a pleasant experience. So while the portions were small for the price IMO, I will return if ever in town again.
My first trip to Nando’s and I had no idea what Peri-Peri was like. I got a half chicken meal with the lemon and herb sauce. I didn’t want anything too hot but tried the medium and lower sauces while I waited and all were good. The chargrilled chicken was really tender and juicy and the sauce was lightly mopped on top but you can get some on the side to dip. It’s a real hands on eating experience so don’t be afraid to give Nando’s a try.
