Overall this was a decent hotel. Comfortable bed, easy check-in using the hiltonhonors app, good breakfast, and the water pressure in the shower was great!(not so great in the last hotel I was at). The only thing that I did not like was how you could hear every noise coming from the hallway and the rooms around you. I fixed this by making the air unit run and drown the sound out. My go to placeNice friendly staff.Always have oatmeal.Clean lobby and rooms.Great location !!
1) I tried to utilize keyless entry. Went to the designated room and could not enter. Back downstairs to front desk.2) Even though I had changed and confirmed the payment, it still tried to charge an old card (that had been stolen) hence the problem with the access.3) Approximately 7:00 pm. Had to wait at front desk as clerk was on the desk phone and her using her personal phone.4) Clerk could not get my name right, kept asking if I was Doug/Donald and could not get my last name right, kept asking if it was Greg) therefor could not find my reservation. I gave her the room number that was assigned to me and she then found the right name. NEVER ASKED ME FOR ID! I could have been anyone. Also, never acknowledged my Hilton status or offered the complementary snack. I then asked her for the Lorna Doone cookies, she kept asking what? What? what? She did not know what they were. I pointed to the display and said those cookies right there. She replied they were out. I asked for something else she quickly looked in a drawer and said those were gone as well. So I settled on a third item.IF YOU DON 'T HAVE THE ITEMS TAKE THEM OFF DISPLAY!I then returned to my room on the forth floor. Again the card keys did not work. Back to front desk.5) On the return trip I looked at the card sleeve the room number was poorly written. Was it 314 or 319 and she keyed the wrong room. When I approached the desk I waited my turn. I showed her the card and asked what room number she had written? She looked at it and said 314. I said well they don 't work. She then asked my name again and started that whole process again, I said are you kidding m, I just handed you my keys and was literally her 1 minute ago. She took the old keys got new keys stated to make the new keys, when the desk phone rang. She stopped what she was doing and started fooling around with the phone and pushing buttons until it stoped. Phone rang again she picked it up and started to have a conversation with another hotel employee and put my keys down leaned back in her chair and continued to talk. I waited a little bit and finally interrupted her and said look I have been on the road for over 10 hours, I want my keys. You need to get your act together young lady! She snapped at me, and told me I needed to get my act together! She picked up the keys started to finish the process and hung up the phone. As I was walking away she called my back and wanted to see the keys and sarcastically rewrote the numbers on the card and if I was a kindergartner.WOW! Never have I been treated like this in your properties. I have always come to expect a better experience with Hilton properties than other brands. I hope this continues
I stayed there for a single night to take a much-needed break from the road. The room I had was different from those of most Hampton Inns where I've stayed before in that it was smaller and more basic with a single queen bed. Still, the nightly rate was much lower than what I've seen at most Hamptons. My room was clean, comfortable, and it had everything I needed. Access to and from I-30 is easy, and there are plenty of restaurants, truck stops, and convenience stores in the immediate area. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely stay there.Nearby activities: Every kind of restaurant one could possibly want is located right in the immediate area. I saw Mexican, home cooking, Waffle House, McDonald's, and plenty of truck stop type places to get sandwiches and coffee. The hotel serves breakfast, but I slept in too late.Noteworthy details: I was able to check in and out, as well as use the digital key, with the Hilton App. There was plenty of convenient parking. I'm not sure how full the hotel was, but the second floor where I stayed was very quiet.
