Absolutely wonderful. Great, friendly and competent staff! The concept is very forward-thinking and as a vegetarian it is definitely a place that I will take my friends and family to. The only negative was that the G&T was a bit flat, which was probably down to the fact that it was on tap. Otherwise great food and especially for the value View all feedback.
What Aarhus Frankie doesn't like about Food Club Aarhus:
It’s a fine concept, where you pay for the time you stay. The waiter came 15 min. before our time was up, and asked if we wanted to extend The buffet is not your typical buffet. It’s small but good. Still many different things. Drinks are included, and there is a big drinkstation with beer, wine, bubbles, soda and lemonade. They also have Hansen softice and more for dessert. Seems like good quality buffet food. You c... View all feedback.
This restaurant used to be good but they have just moved to a new location and the standard seems to have fallen. We both selected crumbed fish from the buffet and it was extremely well done on the outside and raw in the middle. They serve a butter chicken but no rice was available which seems odd. The cheesecake that they served was a room temperature and it was completely runny and not firm at all. My concern is mostly about the potential for bacteria when food containing dairy is left standing at room temperature for a long time. There is far less space in the restaurant to accommodate the long queue and the noise level when the restaurant is full makes it difficult to converse. We barely saw a waiter, although the table of young girls next to us did not seem to have the problem. When we paid the check they asked directly if we would give a gratuity, something that is not very normal in Denmark, particularly at an all-you-can-eat buffet where you serve yourself. The staff were all nice.
This was our first visit to Denmark and our first evening meal. What a great introduction to Danish cuisine. The range of salads was excellent and made up my first course. On our return to the buffet we sampled a wide range of hot meats and vegetables all of which were lip smackingly delicious and satisfying. The fixed price included wines and beers and our first glass was a very good and dry bubbles. We tried a red with our second plate and this was full bodied and good. The crumble and ice cream was a lovely finish to our meal. The ambiance is great with a friendly, informal and cosy feel. there were families, couples, groups of friends all chatting and relaxing and a pleasant buzz of bonhomie. Good as the food and environment is, the best thing about Food Club is the staff. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and helpful and certainly contributed to the cosy and fun vibe. We will certainly return here when we visit Aarhus again.
