The Argyll Inn
The Argyll Inn
Description
Nestled in Lochgilphead, this establishment offers a mixed experience that leaves much to be desired. While the service is deemed welcoming, it seems inconsistent, with reports of favoritism towards locals. The atmosphere is marred by a rowdy clientele, leading to unwelcome interactions for some guests. The décor feels dated, and the selection of overpriced beers adds to the disappointment. Although the location is relatively appealing, the overall impression suggests that both the pub and hotel sides fall short of expectations. Potential visitors might want to reconsider their choice when seeking a pleasant dining experience.

Had a few pints here while on a bike tour recently. interior decoration when they feel in pretty dated. the service was in order, but noticed during the waiting period for both drinks that the locals were served first, although they were not only in the bar. the males consisted in the regular of a group of loudly drunk youthful and some of their typical surly looking old youths on the bar. As our short stay continued, unwanted interactions with the drunk youths began to be a bit tensed so that we decided to go back into our tent. Overall, I would not recommend this place due to our experience.
Only two hotels/pubs in lochgilphead. both belonged to the same person. very bad choice of overpriced beer. can't be for the hotel side, but I really hope better than the bars.
Im unable to contact given phone number, please let me know a number i can call to book the room
This is the worst pub I have been to so far. The landlord was very drunk and all over the locals, and the bar staff were only interested in flirting with the workmen. I stayed there for one night and will never return. Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 3
