What Antje Peters doesn't like about Portsonachan:
Oh, what a shame! Such a super location. Though the service was friendly enough we suffered a starvation lunch with an inedible pizza for £13.50 saved only by sharing a bowl of great chips. We did complain and received an understanding and knowing smile but no refund given. Dirty tables and collapsed ceilings in the toilet not confidence inspiring. Expensive, too: £26 for pizza, chips, slaw, soft drink and half a pin... View all feedback. What David Windle likes about Portsonachan:
Excellent 4 days stay the hotel(return, stayed last year). Dog friendly lodge was great. Ticks all the boxes!. 4 day stay offer is super value, as recently stayed in a premier inn(Musselburgh) £168 for 1 night!!. Keep up the good work, will definitely booking again. Nearby activities: Enjoyed good fishing exploring area. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 View all feedback.

read moreNestled in a breathtaking location, this restaurant boasts a charming atmosphere, though it's a work in progress. The friendly staff strives to create memorable experiences despite being short-handed, welcoming guests to a steadily improving dining scene. While some dishes have received mixed reviews—ranging from delightful steaks to disappointing pizzas—the establishment shows promise with its extensive menu and commitment to fresh ingredients. However, issues like inconsistent food quality, cleanliness concerns, and elevated prices detract from its appeal. With a little investment in upkeep and service, this hidden gem could transform into a must-visit destination in the Highlands.
