Lochside restaurant offers average food at a high price but with gluten-free options. While some meals were satisfactory, overall offerings were unimpressive. However, the scenic view and cozy atmosphere added to the dining experience. The menu selection was extensive and the food was well-presented, with the pork and apple burger standing out. Service was fast but lacked attention to detail and the limited drink options were disappointing. Overall, some enjoyed the experience while others found it underwhelming. Despite mixed reviews, Lochside remains a popular choice in Bowmore for those seeking average dining with a view.
Great stay at the lochside. Staff are lovely. The rooms are nice with several looking over the water. Breakfast and dinner was spot on every day. Excellent WiFi coverage throughout.
Lovely restaurant, excellent views across Loch Indaal. Get a window seat if you can. Unsurprisingly the seafood is particularly good whether prawn and langoustine starter, scallops as catch of the day, or grilled sea bass. Desserts also really good. Good wines, excellent range of whiskies. Will return.
I'd really like to rate it more it has a great view and great staff, but after a seafood chowder that was 50% potato and 15% celery, and then a rare steak done medium well, well what can you say ...
We booked a room whilst sheltering in a bus stop we'd been caught short in the rain during our cycling trip. Upon hearing this, the hotel staff gave us a room with a bath at no extra expense. I can't thank them enough as I was completed soaked through and freezing. The hospitality was fantastic, rooms clean and breakfast delicious. Incredible views from the restaurant. We had a brilliant and revitalising stay. Thank you so much.
Eaten here twice this week, both times the food was fantastic and the staff amazing. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend the bread butter pudding it was awful. I felt like they had buttered and jammed two slices of bread together grilled it then covered it in like warm custard. Yuck. That being said the sticky toffee pudding looked nice and our mains were amazing.
