Contacted them by email about a cake for a special occasion and after three weeks had received no response which was disappointing.
I first got in touch with Yolanda in August 2021 regarding making my wedding cake for March 2022. She responded saying this was fine and we would touch base later regarding finer details. I messaged Yolanda on the 18th January with the wedding approaching, but received an automated reply. We were confused about this as she was continuing to post frequently on social media. My Mum tried to phone and message her on the numbers we had been given, and I sent a final message on 30th January to ask if she could please remove our name from her diary as we had not had the courtesy of a response. Yolanda’s reviews are very positive and I understand that her cakes are very good. However, this was an appalling thing to do to people in the lead up to their wedding at an already stressful time. To continue to post on social media without the decency of a reply is the height of bad manners and no way to conduct a business. I would warn anyone thinking about using her service to be aware of this.
I was so very pleased with the chocolate cake that Yolande made for my son's 50th Birthday. How lovely for the people of Dunoon to have such great cake shop. Yolande is a very talented cake maker.
This shop really is the hidden gem of Dunoon. There are a few things to try, that cannot be missed. The first is the cinnamon bun! Well worth pre ordering, make sure you get enough, as one will not be enough. Next, the handmade chocolates are to die for! Little hits of delicious chocolatey goodness. Beautifully flavoured and presented. Yolanda is really personable and friendly. If you need a bespoke birthday cake, or something sweet to tackle your cravings… this is the go to place.
Yolanda kindly made exactly what my Son wanted for his birthday he doesn't like cake so always had banana loaf. She not only helped out when I was in a.bind (away packing my Daughter up from uni) she kindly went above and beyond and delivered it when she was passing on her day off. Much appreciated oh and was deliciously moist!
