Nestled on the Isle of Tiree, An Ceabhar emerges as a beacon of fine dining, offering a unique gastronomic experience. Owned by the warm duo Duncan and Polly, this restaurant prioritizes sustainability, local sourcing, and waste reduction. The menu, though concise, features imaginative dishes that cater to various dietary needs, including gluten-free options. With an inviting atmosphere, exceptional service, and the possibility of enjoying Duncan's onsite brews, An Ceabhar creates memorable dining moments. Reservations are essential, as this hidden treasure is a must-visit for anyone seeking delightful cuisine and stunning sea views.

We were lucky enough to get a booking, organised via facebook, for this wonderful restaurant. we had a wonderful meal, full of interesting and very tasty food. the soup was so good my daughter ates all my husbands too! the drink was plentiful and the staff helpful, entertaining and lovely. the small bikes outside were a huge hit too! and we were lucky enough to catch a lovely sunset, taking two minutes to walk between courses behind the restaurant and watch a lovely red sun set. kids were welcomed and encouraged.

We booked our table on spec having fortuitously decided to stop for a breather whist cycling in that part of Tiree. How fortunate we were! Booking had obviously been essential; our initial enquiry resulted in an answerphone message being left, but an unexpectedly swift reply ensured our table for the following evening. The food was outstandingly good throughout- a special mention for the 'catch of the day ' in which Polly succeeded in enabling the individual flavour of each of three types of fish come through the 'supporting ' sauce. Duncan 's enthusiasm for the food and his beer was evident and he , and the rest of the front of house staff, seemed to manage to give each table time and personal service without ever losing site of the needs of other tables. This was undoubtedly excellent dining with warm service to deliver it. Highly recommended.

No visit to Tiree would be complete without a visit to this amazing little restaurant.

Brilliant! We are touring around Tiree for my wife 's birthday. Our visit to Ceabhar has been the crowning glory of a great time on Tiree.Duncan is a great host we felt welcome even before we pulled in to the drive with our bikes! He has a friendly manner that more than matches the peaceful setting of Sandaig. The food was excellent, we each had 3 courses and coffee. Brilliant locally sourced ingredients prepared well is very difficult to beat. I had smoked Venison to start followed by Lobster and then Pavlova. With each course our smiles widened to a satisfied grin. This has also been one of the best value meals that I have had for a long time and will be very hard to beat. We will just have to come back. Also please do try Duncan 's excellent micro brew in the words of my father in law it was a damn good pint!

We ate here a couple of times during our week on Tiree. The menu is limited in term of choice and if you don 't eat early you run the risk of not having the full choice as dishes seem to be prepared in small numbers and when they 're gone, they 're gone. That 's not to say the food is poor, far from it. Well prepared and served.A very good selection of beers and Duncan (the owner) is now brewing his own.I 'm never keen on we don 't serve chips here though.
