Unfortunately the bar staff don’t know their own menu and what the drinks are. But to be fair its a very young crew. The breakfast is included in the price but not very appealing its a buffet style the scrambled eggs were very dry, sometimes less is better than putting too much out. They have great views of Piódão.
If you are in the area, this place is a nice spot for a hot drink and a small dessert. Warm, Cousy and magic
The restaurant main fare consists of two uninspired choices. The young staff is nice but not properly trained. When we asked for the alternatives to the menu we were told that "they would take a long time to prepare. The wine list is very limited, and red wines are kept at kitchen temperature, about 30C 80F on the particular days of our stay. What good is it that the restaurant is inexpensive? Give a choice to those who wnat a nice meal and do not mind to pay more.
We recently had our trip with the Old timer Club to the “Slate village of Piodão”. The club had made a reservation in the “Inatel Hotel” in Piodão to have diner. But the previewed highlight was turning himself into a something which you do not expect from a hotel, on this really superb location at the entry of the Slate village of Piodão. We arrived with our group of 50 participants but once there it looked as we were not expected. Nobody from the hotel Staff took care of the group; we had to look by ourselves for a table into the restaurant for having our diner. We could look to have a seat among the other guests from the hotel, because there was not enough place to have our group all seated together. You have to know that the hotel has an outside terrace with a lovely vieuw over the village, that had tables enough to have about a 40 persons, but nothing was previewed, so we have waited almost one hour with a group from more than 10 persons to have a place to sit. Finally we were able to join the “Buffet” on which was not enough food provided for all of us. Also the provided quality from the food was not what you should expect from this kind of hotel. It is possible that the hotel has a value to have his stars, but it was certainly not what we have seen into the restaurant. In the lady’s bad room were no paper towels, we told this to the staff who promised to take care of this matter, but after more than 30 minutes the problem still was there, no paper towels! The major part of the staff of the restaurant was overwhelmed with this situation, which was “reserved” ahead. So viewing the complete picture on what has happened, I seriously have my doubts about the qualification of the Hotel-keeper.
