Was Angella Phan at Yoshan Tea a mag?
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The staff member was incredibly friendly and well-informed about tea. Her passion for the subject truly shines through, and she helped me appreciate the artistry behind the product. I will definitely return in the future. View all feedback.
What Isabella F dislikes about Yoshan Tea:
Expectations were high and when I left with my friend the experience felt awkward and a bit disappointing. The tea was cold and I felt pressured to leave Betty a tip, while she was looking at the screen. That was funny because a tip should not be expected but left to the client to decide. Betty was nice but felt right under the surface she could be a little snarky. If those things can be changed it would be better. View all feedback.
This business could benefit from a bit more signage or explanation of what they sell. The establishment is divided into a very high end shop that sells loose tea leaves and a place you can sit and have tea. The shop part tanges from $40 to $300 for 100g of tea so not for a casual purchase. There are no signs nor did the store associate explain what they sold in the tea shop. We asked about the tea tasting that is mentioned in some of the reviews but were told you need to reserve two days in advance. We then asked if they serve any kind of tea and were handed a menu. The menu didn't make clear it was a personal pot of tea but this was quickly explained after we ordered one tea. After figuring this out we settled to a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We each had our own tea set that came with a kettle of hot water, a tea pot, a cup to smell the aroma of the tea, and a tea cup to drink out of. We had probably around 8 cups of tea in a beautiful and peaceful environment.

Extremely boring experience with mediocre teas (maybe would 've been good if it was hot). Thought we would taste some teas and decide which ones to buy and had to endure this 45 min painful experience where the tea person could not pick up on very obvious cues that we were extremely bored and one of the guests didn 't even understand what she was saying. We felt bad to interrupt her and even gently suggested that we hurry it along at the halfway point and it still went on for another 20+ min. We were lured in by the visuals and thought it would be nice to enjoy some hot teas and get a gift but everything was ice cold by the time we finally got to taste barely two teaspoons of cold tea because we had to endure a long boring lecture on every single one sure the history may be important for some people but it 's not more important than actually drinking the tea IMO. Plus read your audience not everyone wants an excruciating amount of detail on each tea leaf. On top of all that, we were told the tea tasting cost more than what was advertised on their signage as it 'includes taxes ' but the final bill had further taxes on top of that. We decided to get a gift anyways as this was the entire purpose of the visit, and the checkout process took another 15+ min and was extremely disorganized. Then we were told we were given a 'special discount ' after it came out to be exactly the same price as advertised on their shelf and the 'gift wrap ' was being thrown in for free.... as if their regular shopping bag costs anything. Very tourist trap feeling. I get that you want to do business but don 't take your customers as fools. We were very willing to spend money here for a nice gift but felt exhausted and cheated and didn 't even want to patronize them but felt we had to given the enormous amount of time invested. Regret subjecting my family to this experience.
