Consider this a 6-star review. My traveling companion and I had two meals at Diego. We found it walking along the boardwalk hungry, the charming Wes Anderson-like design and friendly host Louison inspired us to get a table. We took an extravagant tour of approximately half the menu between one evening’s dinner and the next day’s lunch, each dish more scrumptious than the last. Some of the finest seafood I’ve had in many years (and I live in Basque Country!! . The mussels were plentiful and terrific, the oysters fresh and meaty, the wine delicious and the shellfish platter a feast that made me feel like a duke. Our waiter, Louison, was terrific. Friendly, funny, patient and knowledgeable, he went out of his way to provide us excellent service. I’m sure there are a number of good restaurants on the beach promenade, but Diego is the only one I care about. Til next time!!!

What a great discovery. Copious dishes. The chief has a real hand. We enjoyed the cruncher, the Paris Brest, the salmon tartar. Bravo also for friendly and inviting staff. Congratulations, we'll be back!

In the extended weekend in Arcachon and having made some restaurants during the stay; at diego is the worst restaurant. a scam!!! I took mussels piquillos/ chorizo sauce with medium flat fries. My companion took a parillada of catastrophic fish merlu almost in purée, frozen vegetables full of water, poor purée; bar ... still frozen; Only one poor walnut of st jacque! we both taste the different elements of the dish and are of the same opinion to flee. We reported our discontent to the manager or boss, I know who. the answer was very disappointing: we had to say it disappointment at the beginning of the tasting of the plate!!! we believe dreaming!!! no excuse or commercial gesture!!!
