What User doesn't like about Cafe Maitree:
At 8AM, we went there for breakfast, the place was just cleaned. The board outside read 'Breakfast served'. We sat down, the waiter came with the menu. We went thru the menu, it did have good options. The waiter returned to take our order. However when we asked for english breakfast, he said 'Oh we don't have that". We asked him what was available and he replies 'we are open from 11am'. Now if you are only open from... View all feedback.
We decided to visit this restaurant based on online reviews, but unfortunately, there were no available rooms for us to stay in. Despite this, we decided to have dinner at around 8pm due to the high praise for the restaurant. Upon arrival, we were greeted by empty tables and only one waiter. Disappointingly, most of the seafood we wanted was not available, with only kingfish grill and small prawns on offer. Despite being in Goa, a popular destination for seafood lovers, this was a letdown. We ordered a beer each, which took around 15-20 minutes to be served as the lone waiter was overwhelmed. We left feeling disappointed as the food did not live up to the expectations set by the reviews. It seemed like the reviews were from a different time period altogether.
We recently stayed at Maitree resort for 5 nights with a group of 14 family members. We enjoyed our breakfasts at cafe Maitree, as well as a few lunches and dinners. The food was delicious and catered well to the vegetarian members of our group. Some of us tried the catch of the day king fish and fish tikka, and all of our meals were enjoyed. The only downside was the lack of Indian vegetarian options during breakfast, with suggestions for items like poha, idli, and dosas to be added in the future. Despite this, the beach facing restaurant was a great spot, surrounded by coconut and palm trees that provided some shade and a cool breeze. Our server, Ranjeet, was fantastic, taking note of everyone's preferences and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for all.
The atmosphere was poor, the food was not good, and the staff was unfriendly. The calamari was rubbery and disappointing. We were expecting better based on the many positive reviews we had seen.
This is worst place in entire. Totally unsafe for female and solo traveler. Staff look like criminals and they try to cause harresment, they will disturb by switching off power, they will pick fights in majority of their staff to scare you, we were 4 ppl and staff picked up fight in middle of night, we were scared and checked out at early 6 in morning. If you are body builders and in a group of of 8-10 then only book this property, otherwise better stay at home. The manager introduced himself as jojo, and his contact info is 7447412440
Not recommended for Vegans at all. Asked for Veg Soup but they served non-veg soup. The food was not cooked properly. The staffs are incapable. Do not recommend this place to anyone.
