We spent 3 days in Aranbol and had most breakfasts and dinners at Gecko.Found on the main beach, this restaurant serves amazing breakfasts, seafood and drinks - especially the mojitos. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming, and even ordered in Lobster for us on our last night.100% recommend spending your morning or evening at Gecko, you won't be disappointed. Yesterday we visited this place as the last year when were in goa Arambol the food we had was good and the view was amazing. But this time this place was PATHAETIC. 1. Food horrible and dirty 2. Plates and glasses dirty and used3. Alcohol was fake tasted like some medicine 4. Service dont have words waiters dont know thier menu, they dont know how to talk to customers. At 12:00 AM midnight, my child wished to have a Maggi and this is the only one that went out of the way to procure a Maggi pack from nearby shop and make it not one but 3 of them. What did they get in return? Our patronage for the next 3 days we wanted to eat at Arambol Beach because our Hotel was not serving any. Treating us pleasantly, serving with a smile without hurrying for billing (or even worrying about the Payment ; this Nepali Gang is among the best of the lot there is at the Arambol (or was it the COVID effect ? ; At our request for a veggie Goan dish, they promptly served Veg Vindaloo which was just rightly spiced. Serves exceptionally good wood fired pizzas! Golden fried prawns is another yummy treat. If one really wants to enjoy the food with the view this is the place. If you want to enjoy your meal peacefully then an early morning breakfast or a lunch with drinks will fulfill that!
We happen to visit this place when we were at Arambol. The shack is right on the Arambol beach. They provided a nice beach bed for relaxing on the beach. The food was good too. We tried lobster, mocktails and seafood pizza. All the food and drinks were good. Cash is the preferred mode of payment, however they do have a tedious and expensive (5% extra) for card payments too. Recommended.
This restaurant on Arambol beach is a great place to visit. The kingfish tandoori and prawn tandoori are especially delicious, as well as the Goan curry. The prices are very affordable so you can enjoy drinks, food and life.
Gecko was the only restaurant I went to twice on a 4 day trip. Most restaurants on the beach serve the same fare and offer similar rates, but I found Gecko staff to be more friendly and helpful. Their sea food preparations in tandoor style are very decent but needs a bit of bargaining before buying. They're open until later than most other shacks and continue to serve chilled beers until midnight at-least (during off peak season). As with all other shacks, always ask the price of beers and off-menu items!
