We had looked forward to this evening at the Pont julien, It was hardly open and some others wandered in. The food was almost inedible/over cooked and could hardly cut the lamb. The worst meal we had to sit through in a month. We can now appreciate why there were few diners. I would never send anyone here!
Restaurant isn't really in Bonnieux, being just off D900 west of Apt, but it's worth a trip out or a lunch stop (you can also visit the excellent Roman bridge nearby). We had quite a substantial menu du jour for lunch, with interesting and local dishes, including a very tasty stuffed volaille dish. Service was good too we only realised Madam spoke good English as we were leaving, as she had patiently helped us do everything in French, including choosing local beer. Make a trip out to try this small and very genuine place.
My wife and I went to Restaurant Pont Julien for Saturday lunch. The day was a bit breezy, so we dined inside. The interior of the restaurant is tres charmant, the owner/hostess very welcoming, and the lunch was excellent, typical Provencal. The price was reasonable. We will return.
Lovely place, good value, cordial sevice. Highly recommended and desserts were fabulous. Menu we had was 15€ for main dish (fish) and dessert.
This is the kind of place you hope to find in Provence. Run by a charming couple, rustic but not rough, with nicely prepared food at fair prices. We happened upon it for the euro12.50 lunch to which we added a carafe of the house rose. The duck was perhaps a bit overdone but the sides and dessert were wonderful. Would definitely go back.
