We were visiting towns in the Luberon and decided to stop at L'Auberge de la Loube in Buoux for lunch (recommended in Rick Steves' book). We ordered the 3 course lunch menu. It was a lot of great food (over a 2 1/2 hour lunch). We especially liked the Hors d'oeuvres Provenceaux and the dessert plate (the other course is a salad with fresh chevre), buy it was a little too much for us for lunch. We'd recommend ordering... We go there regularly, especially in winter near the chimney. We even spent a year with family. The boss (the chef) prepares his kitchen as a peacock his painting, from a simple but so good art. the number of places as well as the decoration, especially do not change anything is very well. at the end of the meal we had the privilege of seeing his collection of calèche. We went there several times in three years. The last two friends. Since my first thought was rather encouraging, we have always found the same thing. we expected to renew more varied dishes. The boss was less at his ease and the "first time" effect of the garage at carriages, had disappeared. We won't go back there for a long time. Let yourself be surprised once, by the framework and the Provencal welcome of the boss.
No chichis, cordial welcome without more, despite the interesting decoration - not a millimeter without a equine representation.
Lunch with friends. The meal is rather nice and the atmosphere of the place. Good kitchen without more. service a little long. the kitchen and the parts are reasonable. to be totally honest, I was shared in my opinion at the end of the meal. what has turned this one down is the visit of the boss's clay collection by himself. friendly and passionate character.
