What Sabre B doesn't like about Swiss Bear Restaurant & Bakery:
Was a terrible experience. Food was bland after spending $60.00 on 3 sandwiches. We were yelled at by the owner as one of us had a sip out of a reusable water bottle. While sitting and eating our sandwiches I spotted the owner licking a spatula and his fingers while preparing food. And to top it off no bathrooms. We were told we had to drive to town to use the public toilets. Needless to say we did not finish our lun... View all feedback.
We had lunch here with a group of about 15. Our food was prepared quickly, and there were plenty of picnic tables to sit at. The poutine was great!
We were on a little road trip and happen to see the sign Swiss Bear Restaurant and Bakery and my husband said, "they are on the Butter Tar Tour". Well that was enough to make us stop in and purchase one dozen assorted tarts. The place was packed at 11am and was packed when we drove by again at 3pm. It was clean, bright and filled to capacity. We ordered every kind of tart they had which was Raisin, Pecan, Apple, Cherry and Blueberry. The tarts were a little pricey but very good, 1 x Dozen for $30.00. We will definitely be back to try the Schnitzel as we certainly enjoyed the tarts which we shared with family.
Stopped in for breakfast Sunday morning. Had the Schnitzel, eggs, rosti breakfast. Delicious. Fast friendly service. And they give you each a free butter tart when you leave! I will be back!
We come every year and make sure we have at least one visit if not three or four! We load up on pies and tarts and everyone loves them! It's a great spot for lunch and to have a schnitzel but make sure your hungry!
My wife and I were camping nearby and stopped here for breakfast and to pick up butter tarts for family at home, the breakfast with schnitzel was delicious, good quick service and very friendly, great place to stop on Hwy 28 good parking if you have a small trailer. Now the butter tarts are to die for. This place is worth going out of your way . You have to try them.
