Reviews - Sai Ram Indian Cuisine
Reviews summary
Nestled in Appleton, Sai Ram is a destination that elicits mixed reactions. While some guests rave about its exceptional flavors, generous portions, and welcoming service, others find the dishes lacking the vibrant spices characteristic of Indian cuisine. Highlights include a diverse menu catering to both vegetarians and those averse to spice, alongside a friendly atmosphere. However, there have been notable service hiccups, such as delays and miscommunication regarding naan bread orders. For both seasoned Indian food lovers and newcomers alike, Sai Ram offers a tantalizing experience worth exploring, even if competition in the area is strong.

What R P E dislikes about Sai Ram Indian Cuisine:
This was my first experience with Sai Ram. I found the food to be rather uninspiring with little to no flavor. I tried the chicken Chennai, which had good texture, but was essentially flavorless. The Naan-bread was good as it is expected to be. I also thought the potato Pacora’s were decent, but still lacked flavor. Overall, rather disappointed, being Indian food, is really all about the flavor and combination of spi... View all feedback.

Food was rushed not fresh. Chicken was served in huge chunks. We was very disappointed
Some of the best Indian out there anywhere. They really know what they're doing with balancing spices which puts them over the top. The inside is gorgeous and the staff is friendly. Their front door can be comically hard to open due to a constant suction from what I assume is the kitchen fans. We get a craving for sai ram at least once a month, it warms your soul.
Our waitress said it was busy and naan would take a little time. Everything else came out, so we ate. She gave repeated assurances that naan would come soon. When she cleared my plate, I asked if she had given up on the naan. Mind blown. We never got it, though others clearly did.

Ok, for the second time in a row, absolutely cold curry. But to go with it, this time I ordered a side of vegetables. When me my wife got our cold food, I...
Ridiculously generous portions. Excellent flavors and great spice level offerings. Fast service. Quiet setting with lots of seating. A new favorite in...
I loved the food! So much so I went back two days later with another friend! The service was very fast and the waitress was upper helpful as well! The atmosphere was nice because it wasn't too loud, and you can actually have a conversation.
Good, authentic Indian food. I had aloo chaat, lamb vindaloo, garlic naan and rice. All quite tasty.

Stopped here on our way back to Green Bay and we were not disappointed. Excellent food, nice restaurant, good portions. I had chicken makhani, which was delicious. My friend enjoyed his chicken masala a lot as well. Girlfriend liked the lamb vindaloo but said she'd probably try something else next time. I tried a little and thought it was very tasty. The best part was absolutely the naan though. Both the plain and the garlic naan were amazing, definitely the best I've ever had by far! My friend also got the almond milk shake (forgot the name) and we all tried it but none of us cared for it. It is like sweet milk with pureed almonds in it. We didn't expect it to be like a typical milkshake, but still didn't really like it. That's the only thing I wouldn't recommend, everything else was great. Definitely will go back if we're in the area again. Don't skip the naan! I went for the first time this weekend and it was delicious! My date and I were sat right away but the waiting area looked spacious enough, our host, server, and food runner were very friendly, and the food was incredible. We loved the samosas, garlic naan, and mango lassi. I had chicken tandoori and after I finished eating another employee came over and asked to make sure I enjoyed my food, I had and I told him so, and he went and brought out a dish of the sauce that comes with the chicken masala and said to try it and I would love it even more. He was right! The chicken tandoori was delightful but even more so with the sauce he brought out. I made sure to dump it all over my leftovers so I could enjoy it later. This was a wonderful first experience and I can't wait to go back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Seated and brought our waters and lentil soup very quickly We ordered the combo platter.. Which was phenomenal, each different meat had a beautiful distinct flavor We also ordered the chicken curry and chicken makhani lunch special Also ordered a mango yogurt smoothie which was phenomenal The garlic nan dipped into the curry was life changing I've had curry at a lot of places and this is hands down some of the best I've had in my entire life Each dish just was prepared so beautifully so exceptionally seasoned and just flat out mouth watering Beyond reasonably priced for the food you receive Me and the ol lady found a gem here and I hope you consider giving this place a try as well as I can assure you will not leave unsatisfied Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Chicken Curry, Lunch Special, Tandoori Mixed Grill

Delicious food and great service. This place is fantastic. For my first time going I am definitely going back again. The chicken masala was perfect. Great flavor and the chicken was juicy and tender. The sauce is very creamy and when dipped with nan bread it hits the spot. Our server Megan was super good too!! Great food and clean dining room. Easy five star review here! Highly recommend if you want to try this food!
Although the food was very delicious, we had encounter such poor service. As we enter into the restaurant they front lady had counted 5 adult and 2 kids under 2 years old. As two of the adult went to the bathroom before they seated us. They gladly had brought the remain of us to a single table that can one seated 4 people and one high chair. Of course we had told them that we have 5 adults and 2 kids and need one high chair. They had told us that they can not accommodate us. There were two table next to each other that are empty so we ask if we can combine the table together. The young girl who took us to the table asked one other lady and she say no and will not accommodate for us to sit together. I had ask we can take two table and that we don’t need to put it to together. The lady kept shaking her head no to us. Again, my brother in law ask the same question. The lady still shaking her head no. The young girl kept look at the other lady and say yes to us. We finally sat down. The whole time that we were there, the lady never looked at us or acknowledged that we as a customer is there. No sure if that lady is the owner or not but she stands there and watches the room. It is such a disappointment to see such a great restaurant to such amazing food to had bad customer service. If you or your family for family friendly restaurants, this is definitely not the place. Sorry to disappoint but they don’t accommodate more than 4 adults at this restaurant. By far this is one of the worst restaurants customers service that I’ve ever been to. Thank goodness we didn’t had the lady as our server.
Ordered takeout twice. I ordered the same thing both times and it was amazing both times! I ordered chicken 65, it is unique and delicious. The samosas are some the best I’ve ever had and they’re huge!
Outstanding food. Staff was friendly and efficient. She gave us detailed run down of the menu which was super helpful. Will definitely be back.

I had such a great experience here. Customer service is great. Yes it does take awhile for the food to come but every restaurant is like that. I recommend people to come here. It's worth it.
It was the first time my daughter and I visited Sai Ram. We had such a nice waiter who was friendly and helpful. We were pleased to see a clear description of ingredients under the menu items, as we'd only been to Indian buffets previously, never ordering of off a menu. That combined with our waiter Noah being happy to answer questions, made ordering easy... other than trying to choose among many delicious sounding dishes! We were both so extremely pleased with our appetizers and main dishes. They were just fantastic. I'm already trying to figure out when we can go again! Highly recommended!
We went on Tuesday night to celebrate a family birthday we had appetizers which everyone in the whole family enjoyed! We all had different entrees which were explained to us, ingredients, heat, etc and we all really liked what we ordered! Then we were served 3 different desserts key lime, strawberry and a chocolate lava cupcake! All were awesome! And of course we all tried the Indian beers and had ordered more because we were so impressed! Ask questions if you have them! You will certainly be taken care of! If it takes a little time for your food remember each meal is prepared when ordered! We will all be back! Loved our night out!
Amazing as always! Great food and great service. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner
I am so happy to hear Sai Ram is coming back! It is one of the best Indian food restaurants in the state of WI; my husband and I have eaten at a number of Indian restaurants, so I say this with complete confidence. We have never been disappointed in the food or service. Every time we have eaten at Sai Ram, it has been nothing short of delicious. They know what they're doing, and I hope they are here to stay! If you love Indian food, you really need to eat here. Their food is so out-of-this-world, it'll rock your tastebuds straight into space!

That was the best Indian food I ever had! The staff was super polite and it was crazy busy, but I didn't have to wait for a table and everything is reasonably expensive! The only thing I would say is if you want spicy food, make sure you tell the server to make it extra sharp
Makhani is super good. Their food is consistently great. I moved to Milwaukee 3 years ago and always try to figure out a way to stop by Sai Ram for a meal when I’m in the Fox Valley area. Some of the best Indian food in Wisconsin.
We ordered the Lamb Vindaloo and asked for it so spicy we couldn’t breath. I can safely say they did the job. I can still breath, but it is spicier than any other place would have made it when told the same thing. Besides that, the service was great and the food even better. I’m glad we gave them a try and we will be coming back.
We ate at Sai Ram one of the first times 18 years ago when our oldest was just the size of a grain of rice. We started calling them Basmati that night. 18 years later they enjoy the food with us and their sister. The food seems to have only gotten better. Wonderful place, with amazing authentic food.
This place is worth exploring! It is much better than any other Indian place in the Greenbay appleton area. Try the Aloo Chat, Chilli Gobi and Chennai Chicken. I also tried some ducks and they are usually not very sharp. I also enjoyed the Veg biryani and the Kheer. I was here a few times and I would definitely recommend going to this place!
