The staff handled the hottest day of the summer flawlessly; our food was ready in less than 5 minutes. The fresh flavors were perfect for the heatwave. Currently, there’s no dining in – you need to call ahead or order at the counter for takeout. I’ll be telling all my friends about this place; the food is fantastic, and the service is quick and friendly. It’s truly an underrated gem in Appleton, conveniently located... View all feedback.
What DeluxeCircuitAB763 dislikes about Josef's Gyros Kabobs:
More than once, I have placed an order and found that the individual taking the order was contentious, argumentative even pissy. The customer doesn’t need you, you need the customer. And you just lost one. No product is that good. Entitlement at its finest. View all feedback.

It's a small, counter style place with a few tables outside. I got the chicken gryo. It was HUGE and came with more meat than I knew what to do with. It was delicious and very lemony. Husband got falafel, also delicious. Pita tasted fresh. Would come again.
This spot was recommended to my co-worker I from a Neenah resident. Delicious falafel wrap (albeit messy when eating because it's PACKED with lots of good veggies! . My co-worker said this was the best place he ate dinner all week!
Wow! Today was my first time visiting this restaurant. I recently moved up from Florida and had been craving gyros and kabobs. Josef, you did not disappoint! The flavors were incredible, the food was hot and fresh, and there was a wonderful aroma filling the entire shop.
What a fantastic restaurant! The atmosphere is bright and clean, and I absolutely love the subway tile! The staff is incredibly welcoming, and the meals are both moist and delicious. The portion sizes are truly generous! Thank you so much, everyone! Yum!
Where do I start?! First off, the gyros are amazing hands down. We both ordered a Big gyro and it lives up to its name. Their falafels were delicious and if you like a little cilantro and chilies, order the S 'Hub, you won 't be disappointed. Picture the S 'Hub like a mint chutney but without the mint. Great flavor over all! Today was our first time coming in to order and from now on, we are ordering online. P.S. The Big was so big (How big was it?! , it was so big, I 'm finishing it tomorrow. And I 'm a big guy. Oh, can 't forget the Baclava! Delicious!! We are ordering it again.
Located in Appleton, this small counter-style restaurant excels in delivering bold flavors and generous portions, featuring standout dishes like gyros, chicken skewers, and seasoned fries. Despite occasional service hiccups, many patrons rave about the quick turnaround time for food and the outdoor seating options available. While indoor dining is lacking, the takeout experience is efficient, making it a go-to spot for delicious, satisfying meals that impress even the most discerning palates. A hidden gem, it’s clear that the culinary offerings here offer great value and are worth a visit.

I ended up getting a small Greek salad, a Zeusburger, and a chicken kabob. My food was served quickly—probably because everything was frozen beforehand—and I took it to enjoy on my way home. The kabob was my first choice because the scent was irresistible. As I bit into the freshly cooked chicken, I realized I’d only tipped 20% when I should have given at least 30%. It was incredibly juicy, flavorful, and yes, a bit greasy. I devoured it in no time. Next, I moved on to the burger. The smell was fantastic, but I was unprepared for how good it tasted. The combination of tomatoes, onions, crispy Giromeat (which was perfectly dark), and a grilled bun was nothing short of perfect. I’d rate it a clear 10/10. I started wondering if I should put a ring on it—how could such wonderful flavors possibly belong to someone else? Finally, I tackled the salad. To be honest, I didn’t expect much; a Greek salad is pretty standard, right? WRONG. This was the best salad I’ve ever had, and I can’t even explain why. Did they sprinkle it with fairy dust? Was there some magical lemon juice or spicy secret ingredient? I may never know, but I’ll definitely be back to find out. Overall rating: 10/10. Speed: 9/10. Flavor: 10/10. Price: 10/10. Portion size: 10/10. This place has officially become my new favorite restaurant in Appleton.
AMAZING food! The small gyro is HUGE. I couldn't eat it all. Will try the slim next time. The cheese curds and falafel were both tasty and my less adventurous eater got a cheeseburger which she said was delicious. We did curbside pickup which was super smooth. A will definitely stop at again when we pass through Appleton.
This place is fantastic. You can go or your order online, pick up and go. The small gyro is a large amount of food and the price is appropriate. I hope they stay here for a long time.
I’m pescatarian now, so i’ve been getting their falafel pita for a while and it’s so good every time. when i did eat meat i got the regular gyro which was also really good. i love their seasoned fries too. josef’s never disappoints tbh
Josef's is the best money I've spent on a meal in a long time! With these generous portions and absolutely fresh ingredients, the flavors are incredible If you haven't ordered yet, go do it now.

Me my husband were craving gyros one day happened to come across this place online. It 's tucked into an alley behind College Ave, so you 'd never find it if it didn 't know it was there. By far our go-to place for gyros. We usually get the family pack for $35 and it comes with such a huge amount of meat that we can eat the pitas over 2 days and still have enough meat for omlettes or salads for lunch for the week. You also get a huge amount of veggies and feta cheese, and the veggies are always super fresh. The building itself is about the size of a hallway so I wouldn 't recommend going there to 'dine in '.
Their food is amazing. The falafel is second to none and easily the best available in the fox cities! Their hummus platter was amazing as well for any catering needs! We love going to Josef’s!
Last week, I tried a falafel in Milwaukee and was really disappointed. I found myself longing for Josef’s falafel back in Appleton, which is a thousand times better than what I had. Thanks for the incredible falafel sandwich!
I'm new to the area and had asked around about who makes a good gyro. This place was recommended and I'm glad I tried it. The guy working that evening was super friendly and courteous. The gyro was exceptional and the price was good. Definitely going to be a regular place for me now.
Consistently delicious food! The staff is always kind and friendly. We absolutely love this restaurant!

The best kind of gyro and Greek place, barely enough room for the customers to wait for their food alongside the kitchen, watching a cylinder of meat rotate mouth wateringly. The light flickering as its beams are broken by the blades of the woefully insufficient ceiling fan (just doing its best). It's delicious; they're great; it's great; eat here.
It had been too long until I stopped in here today and it was even better than I remembered! I got a small Greek salad and a small classic gyro. That's two meals for me. Very reasonable. There is no atmosphere in particular because it is takeout. I'll be making this a weekly treat! Vegetarian options: Salads Parking: There are a few parking spots in front. You can order online and pick up curbside.
Best Gyros in our area.
Love the small Gyro.
